#1 heavy correct?Good get for okie st
Yes, and #4 overall in the class#1 heavy correct?
Per Flo as of October 18th, Carroll is #1 at 220 and #1 P4P, just ahead of Ben K in both.#1 heavy correct?
I wonder if he’ll be wrestling 184 for John and Co!
I tend to agree but I will point out that a very small percentage of college players play in the nfl. A lower percentage play for more than a year, and even lower percentage play for 3 years or more.Carroll is really good and was number 2 on my wish list. Why was he #2 on my wish list. Probably because I have a hard time believing Ben K. Will be wrestling for more than 1 year. I have a hard time believing after 1 year of football that he will see the bigger picture and that’s a really good chance he will be playing on Sunday’s and he won’t want to jeopardize that.
Has there ever been a wrestler/football player who got hurt wrestling and was not able to play in the nfl?I tend to agree but I will point out that a very small percentage of college players play in the nfl. The money sure is nice but the beating your body takes might not be worth it given the percentages. That said more power to him, if he has the chance it still might be worth it just in case he’s in the small number of people that play for 3 or more years.
I hope he wrestles, because I think he will be a national champion at some point. It’s a tough call and he’s lucky enough to be faced with the choice
I can’t think of any current guys that have even attempted to do it. Both sports are hard on the body. It would be a remarkable feat for him to even attempt it, let alone be successful at wrestling, following a football season.Has there ever been a wrestler/football player who got hurt wrestling and was not able to play in the nfl?
certainly several lineman who credited wrestling as helping them play at the highest level
Rutgers recently had a guy attempting to do both, looks like he’s no longer on the wrestling roster. Same with Greenlee at Iowa State, he’s on the football roster, not the wrestling roster.I can’t think of any current guys that have even attempted to do it. Both sports are hard on the body. Correct, to have a guy healthy for 8 d1 football and wrestling seasons in a 4 year span or even 5 years. Not likely. Both brutal sports.
also I wouldn’t be surprised if Carroll went 97
Carroll most definitely is NOT going 197. Okie st has that weight covered over the next few years. Luke Surber who wrestled hwt last year is going to be the 197 lber for the next 3 years in Stillwater. I think he'll be low AA to rd 12 type guy. Carroll will be a AA contender right out the gate imo. I like his upside even more than Feldman even though Feldman beat him at WNO last year 3-2.Correct, to have a guy healthy for 8 d1 football and wrestling seasons in a 4 year span or even 5 years. Yes...Kyonte Hamilton..Was ranked #1 at 285lbs in 2020 by Flo at one point...Had a breakout freshman season for RU football last year and now is a Defensive starter and stopped wrestlingRutgers recently had a guy attempting to do both, looks like he’s no longer on the wrestling roster. Fresno ain’t Iowa, but I get your point it can be done successfully. Let’s hope Ben is our guy.Josh Hokit from Fresno was an AA in 2019 and 2020 while also playing football.

True. It's the (rarity of ) the exception that proves (the generally applicable) rule.Wasn’t really my point. It is incredibly tough and rarely done.
