Was posted on Youtube yesterday. 6 min. long. Here's the link. Couple of things really pop out. Christian is incredibly LONG and quite athletic. He reminds me of Marble Jr. a lot and it wouldn't surprise me if he became the best player in this class. He'll be able to shoot over smaller guards and give them fits on the defensive end. Plus, Iowa will be able to switch on the pick and roll easier without giving up a huge mismatch. Enjoy

Thanks for posting that. The resemblance to Marble is there.

If he stays at PG, he will need to get a little lower with his on-ball defense but he his long arms will definitely cause problems.

The highlight vids of all the incoming guys look good. It's all in whether or not any of the guys (including Williams) are able to use their talents when the other 9 players on the floor are your equal/better than you in terms of athleticism and talent.

But yes, Williams' game does resemble Marble's. Excited to see how many of the newcomers are ready to play and contribute this year.

That is a tough shot to defend. If he can quicken his release, which will most certainly happen a little at a minimum, his shot will be next to impossible to defend....

I love the little floater he shoots. If he can be consistent with that he will draw a lot of fouls.

Williams at 6'6 has a 7' wing span which makes him a matchup night mare on offense and defense, unless people are expecting him to play on his knees he does not need to play any lower.

Those there stats seem to indicate Williams is tall and long Kilroy. Hence he may need to get lower (the opposite of taller/longer/higher) when playing defense. The same can be said for most hs kids (maybe excluding Hutton?). The natural thing on D is to stand straight up and get out of position, especially when tired. Getting lower will help you stay in front of a defender and move laterally. If you're just long and not move in a defensive stance, you're a foul machine (ever watched Woodnury outside the paint?).

Woodbury gets called for bellying up a player dribbling the ball, in a matchup in the paint he does just fine it is the silly fouls away from the basket that get him into foul trouble it will be these areas that he needs to work on this season.

as for Williams he will learn and as far as him getting tired, there will be players like Fleming and a possible incoming FR in the 2016 class to share the load, with the players Fran is bringing in the possibility of Fran using 10-11 players more effectively goes up with no drop off.

every FR needs to learn better defensive posture, that is why I don't pay to much attention to defense on Highlights in a video as most are concentrated on a players offensive ability and not defense, Oakhill is a offensive minded team and plays very little man to man and relies on a matchup zone or a straight {standard HS 3 2 zone}.

are you going to the PTL this summer?

Does look allot like Marble, but bigger and more physically mature at the same age.

Also looks allot like Micheal Carter Williams.

Who ever edited that video over did it IMO. Less is more brah... hard to get a sense of his on-court quickness when nothings moving in real time. With that said I really like what I see, especially when compared to Marbles HS vids. As others have said needs a faster release. Maybe Jok can teach him a thing or two... his stoke is work of art.

Christian is a guy I'm really interested to see how his game translates to the next level. He played out of position in HS yet his guard skills are very evident. I hope he's drafted as a PG in the PTL. That would be a good start for testing him going forward.

here's what i see. average quickness, leaper, shoots a jump shot, plays/finishes through contact, good passer/court awareness, tough nosed young man, competitor, gets well above rim on his dunks and throws it downwards. i imagine the collegiate level diet/training will improve his physicality. see a lot of upside here, can play the 1,2,3.

sounds like a Fran recruit.

Fran loves him some length.

It's kind of funny that his son turned out to be a prototypical Fran recruit.

he could be a RS candidate then be a 4 year starter, with a RS he can get emotionally, mentally and physically stronger, plus he will go against Gesell and Clemmons in practice every day. I know the arguement of "BUT" playing time is important. it would be no different than if Fran were to get Carr and he would start from day one from looking at starting.

Williams will have a full year of learning and preparing to be the starter.

we all saw how Gabe could have used a RS year. think about how that RS year would help Williams.

Is this an opinion without being pounded by some nutcase? Did you forget you don't allow that around here? In fairness, maybe you should follow these directions...

oh boo hoo at least i Didn't tell you to shut up like I have been told after I post a opinion nor do I go out of the way to bash former coaches like you did.

Don't sell yourself short. You've not only been told, several times, to shut up, YOU'VE BEEN REPEATEDLY booted of the board and in fact I believe that according to site policies your return under a different moniker is akin to trespassing.

So, before you get tossed again like the vegetable salad that you are......

You accused me of lying about attendance figures during the Dr. Tom era. That accusation turned out to be a piece of dung! You continue to claim I "bashed" Dr. Tom. How so? What are these charges specifically, Inquisitor?

This guy must be good. There were fat heads of him in the crowd. I love how he played the passing lanes on defense. He also finishes with authority. Could be a really good get here. Long and quick with good handles.

Williams certainly seemed to enjoy the support of his school and team. That's not a bad thing. And, I like the potential of players that can move to several positions. Just the idea that a big who rebounds can outlet to several different guys makes our fast break that much more of a threat.

dan go look it up, you did it in the thread reguarding the best BB IA coaches. as for saying the attendance was dropping and all you did was show the year he was a lame duck coach, a lot of those people me included dropped our season tickets because of how Davis got the shaft.

I can't help it you can't/won't admit that. you yourself said Davis needed to be run off as he had become a mediocre coach and the program was becoming stale with him as the HC,

face it you are/were one of many that turned on Davis after Lafrentz chose Kansas. after that everything Davis did after was never good enough and some like you wanted him run off.

It was actually pleasant not having kilroy polluting the boards for a while. Maybe time for a vacation until he is banned again.

I feel partly responsible as well for even replying to the goof. If it helps, I'm putting him on ignore although I know he'll still be twisting everything I say.......I guess I should just have faith that folks know what a piece of s..t he is.
