CJ did not practice all week; Wiegers got all #1 QB snaps

Since the other thread got into conspiracy theories and other nonsense, I created this thread so you don't have to figure out the fact from the fiction.

From Thursday's Hawkeye Report Podcast:

CJ has not practiced all week. Tyler Wiegers got all the #1 QB snaps in practice this week; the 2 freshman QB's split the #2 reps....

And my thoughts:

I hope CJ can play AND play effectively; how many hits will be he able to take? How rusty will he be since he did not practice all week? Will the timing be off? Well, we find out it a few hours....

Damn, I am afraid N'western's D is gonna be chomping at the bit.....

If I were going to play CJ.... I would start Wieger on the first play do a play action. Northwestern will be biting big expecting a run play with the new QB in, and take a shot deep. If it works great if not oh well... Next play bring in CJ.

I love this idea. I would do it in a home game though. The reaction at Kinnick would be increddible

I think we will see Wiegers today. I would prefer it was in mop up time, but he's a good player.

It happens. In football, after 10 weeks of practice, not that unusual for players to stand and watch - if they are sore, beat up, etc. they need to be ready on Saturday - Sunday (pros). Take treatment, ice, etc. B Favre often practiced lightly one day a week and needed four days to recover. Hope CJ can go, but not at the expense we lose him for season.
