I can’t believe how good he is. Not only is he one of our best shooters, he excels as a defender, at pushing the ball, penetrating in the lane to get an easy basket or kicking it out, creating his own shot, and playing his best games against top teams.

No wonder Moss transferred last year. How did Iowa get so lucky to find this gem. He will be all big 10 before he leaves.

CJ is an example of the deficiencies in the recruiting rankings. He signed early with Iowa and people stopped watching him cuz he signed with just Iowa. None of the blue bloods gave him much attention. But then, senior year he blew up and looked like Jerry West in state tournament. There is no explanation but "oops" for CJ not getting at least a 4th star if not a top 100 listing.

There was also racial bias. A lot of people complained he was just the white kid with a jump shot-and scouts that passed on watching him. They didn't realize he was athletic, has great floor vision, a beautiful shot and the ability to score inside and beat his man.

Next season it looks like the offense is going to shift focus to CJ and Joey T. I'm thinking CJ averages around 20 next year, even if Joe Dubya returns, as he should.

And that perfect pump fake...side step...and drain the 3!

He's one my favorite players of recent memory, that's for sure. He really can do it all - except maybe dunk. I would like to see him throw it down one time, please!

Fran coached CJ's uncle at Notre Dame.

Kid never wanted to play for anyone but Fran. Originally chose the Hawks with no scholarship immediately available.

Gotta love Fran's ability to make some personal connections
I remember the outcry when we offered and he accepted the scholly..#Derp

He’s really mentally tough. Doesn’t force anything but doesn’t shy from a big shot at all. From that perspective, kind of like a younger JBo. This team has a edge to it that you don’t often see.

Moss started at Kansas last year

CJ has more all-around game, but Weezy is much more of an NBA prospect. It's Joe's size that is the difference maker there as it is coveted for 3 and D players in the league

Honestly, getting a contract in the NBA is dam hard. Getting minutes is even harder. Neither one is incredibly athletic (NBA-wise). At 6-6 and 6-4, neither one is very big. I doubt either one could finish at the rim against NBA guys. So, they are shooters in the NBA.

But, I don't care about any of that. They are both dam good college BB players!

Plays like an upper classmates and only a sophomore! Tyler Herro 2.0 is so accurate. We are in good hands the next few years.
Technically he's a junior. The seasoning of our current roster says a lot about their success. Our studs are 4th and fifth year players. Even most of the complimentary players are older then their class. CJF is a third year soph. PMac is a 20 year old RSFR. The Murray twins are probably 20 as well after their year in prep school after high school. And to top it off Nunge is a redshirt soph, but came in the same class as Luka.

Does anyone have a sense of humor?

I think a really good comparison would be Kirk Hinrich. Same size, tough defender, great shooter, tough. He is just really fun to watch and just happy he is on our side.
