As we mentioned, yesterday being September 1st, it was the first official day coaches could contact Class of 2017 recruits directly. Before it was just through their coaches or questionnaires and camp invites, etc.
Anyway, one of the 2017 recruits Iowa reached out to on the first day was offensive tackle Blaise Andries, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect from Marshall, MN. Andries was at Iowa's camp over the summer and actually has a photo of him with his coach and Kirk Ferentz as his cover photo on his Twitter page.
Andries told me he's definitely planning to get down to Iowa City for a game this season, maybe the night game against Pitt possibly.
No offers yet, but watching his film it's easy to see why he has early interest from Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan State, Purdue, etc. Definitely a name to watch at OT in 2017.
