It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Go Hawks!

Love the zeal and exuberance. The guy definitely bleeds Iowa colors. But, with that said, you just can't say Morningstar and Brands are the best recruiting combo when PSU damn near gets EVERY SINGLE RECRUIT they go after. Remember, that even includes guys Iowa wanted.

Now they did at least get Spencer, who changed the entire landscape, but that truly is attributed to Terry more than either of them.

Finally, I will say that they have most definitely stepped up their game considerably in recruiting and are landed more top 10's recently. But, they are still way behind PSU.

Thanks for the update, Todd. Any info on which 2022 recruits hosted Iowa coaches for in home visits?

I know this will be a shocker to many but the writer of Iowa Wrestling Blog doesn’t pretend to be an unbiased columnist.

Do you think just maybe my 2nd sentence makes it perfectly clear that I am not one of the many?

Do Jesuroga, Block, Kueter and Naaktgeboren all train at Seaboldt's in Jefferson? TIA

Ah don't worry, it's football season now. And the SEC is about to overthrow the NCAA for good. I won't be around too often.
Has to be rough being the step child in that conference. Yeah it's cool Mizzou is in the best football conference, but you aren't even competitive. You are a team good teams get healthy against. But we all need something to beat our drums about, and being in the a really good conference is about all you can say, so congrats.

Money be green old man. When those $85 million TV checks start hitting the account in a few years while I get to travel to Austin for away games, I think Mizzou nation will be just fine.

But keep enjoying dominating Illinois and visiting Ames on a yearly basis. I'll stick with Nashville, Athens, and Oxford.

Yep - We just completed a $200 million remodel of the stadium and are about to flip a 5 Star WR. How's Iowa doing? Still dealing with Kevin Warren?
Mizzou joined the SEC in 2011, results since then:
2012 (1st official year in the conference) 5-7
2013 12-2 (great year...sincerely)
2014 11-3 (another great year)
2015 5-7 (back to the median, you will notice a pattern)
2016 4-8
2017 7-6
2018 8-5
2019 6-6
2020 5-5

That is a 63-49 record, winning % of 56% (with 2 major outliers in those two phenomenal seasons, unfortunately you will not be repeating those anytime in the near future). University of Mizzou is the #73rd ranked revenue generating football program.

Iowa's record since 2011:
2012: 4-8 (terrible season)
2013: 8-5
2014: 7-6
2015: 12-2
2016: 8-5
2017: 8-5
2018: 9-4
2019: 10-3
2020: 6-2

That is a 72-40 record, winning % of 64%. Iowa is the 14th overall revenue generator for athletics in the nation. The football team is 21st in the Nation.

I think Iowa is doing just fine (outside of Kevin Warren, that is a valid point).

No it isn't. We have a top 30 AD budget. Accounting is vastly different from one school to the next.

I also enjoyed how you compared Apples to Volvos. We play Florida and Georgia every year while you play Illinois and Northwestern.

The #'s I provided are according to Forbes. You listed top 30 Budget, that means you receive a lot of $ from your great conference (who beats the piss out of you), but you don't actually make a lot of $. Iowa does both.

I can't argue that the those 2 schools you listed for Mizzou are better than the 2 schools you listed for Iowa. But don't forget Tennessee, Vandy, and South Carolina who have been terrible the last 10 years, and Kentucky who on their best years are a .500 team. So yes you play two great school every year, you also play 4 that haven't been relevant since The Ole Ball coach and Phil Fulmer respectively were roaming the sidelines.

It always comes down to world view doesn't it? Which side of the world do you want to view your topic from.

Here's my worldview. Money is green. Enjoy the NFL season.

Don’t be surprised when in the future the sec votes mizzou out lol. Especially if they ever put a cap on these conferences. Mizzou is a bottom level big12 team and that’s even without OU.
But they do have the St. Louis and arguably the KC market. I believe it was you who said that isn't as big of a deal anymore, but I am still standing on the ground that says it is. It's not about competitive athletics, you can only have so many winning teams in a conference. The mid's (like Mizzou was supposed to be) and the bottom feeders serve their purpose.

Amos just dominant. Keegan looks like the future of 74kg with some years in the WR. Said he was a 157 wrestling up at 165 because it was a free year to help the team. Be nice if he could cut to 65kg lol.

He'll have to deal with David Carr
