Clement

Clement is probably better than any back we have right now, but he isn't Melvin Gordon. It isn't good for Bucky, but they will have somebody else ready to go with that huge line.

Sounds like he will be out against Iowa next week.
I think that Iowa will be able to shut down their running game ... irrespective of whether they have Clement or not.

The big question is whether we can slow their passing game AND move the ball against their quality defense.

Looks like their back-ups are a converted walk-on safety and a true freshman, neither has been tearing it up. I think we match up well .

Badgers have had the lucky horseshoe for awhile. Their turn to suck wind.

This. Latching onto a transfer QB who suddenly turned all american at Wiscy one year (when they had nothing at QB otherwise) and backing into the B10 championship game/Rose Bowl while finishing third in their division another year...holy crap they've had luck.

It's too bad for Clement, but I don't feel bad for the program. Especially when I look at how snake bitten Iowa was in 2010....

This could have a big impact on the BIG10 West race as Bucky will face both Iowa and Nebraska without Clement. I thought we had a good chance against Wisconsin before this unfortunate injury...now I'm even more convinced that the Badgers will struggle against the Iowa defense.

Something tells me that coach Chryst will have some twists prepared for our game to compensate for the loss. Hope we will be ready for some different looks.

The freshman looks like he has potential. Name is Deal. I think he came out of DeMatha. Same school that gave us Marcus Coker & Darian Cooper....

While I would like to give you credit for an observation on which we are in agreement, the problem is that is what you saw about any scheduled athletic contest between the schools whether FB, BB, Track, CC or even sports like Hockey or Men's Rowing.;)

You forgot baseball, Carl.;)

Not quite the " the Real " yet, but has been improving each game. Waiting to see if he can penetrate the Hawaiians and Samoans tomorrow night.

are you just saying this because you assume Wisky will always have a dominant line? have you actually watched them? They of course can, and most likely will improve as the year goes on, but they have been very suspect so far.

Pretty even match-ups thus far. Our run-D owns an advantage over their run-O and our pass-D and their pass-O is probably a "push." Their run-D owns an advantage, however slight, over our run-O while our pass-O and their pass-D is close to a "push." Being a Hawk fan, I'd probably give the Iowa's pass O a slight edge. However, the game is at Camp Randall ... that gives them a legit intangible edge.

I'm not familiar with how Bucky's special teams have been faring ... but Iowa's special teams have been decent.

All in all, it looks like a close one on paper. I like Iowa's chances ... we have just as good of a shot to take them out this year as we had last year (and that was a close one too).

Overall, Bucky's special teams are improved this year. I will watch carefully tonight.

Our run D today looked like it can be had by a good running game.
Fair observation. We lost contain too often - and, consequently, they got out to the edge and made some yards. Furthermore, they were exploiting the gap between Ott and Bazata.

On the flip side, we were also defending the run with very few hats in the box ... often with only 5 or 6 hats in the box. Consequently, if you don't tackle well OR you miss an assignment ... a short gain breaks for more yardage.

I'm not too worried about the run D ... however, the D clearly has things to clean up.
