Clowns, Miami competing for “worst bowl trophy ever”

I doubt it. The ACC ain't exactly a murderers row. You saw what happened to their undefeated champion when they played a decent team in Happy Valley.
ACC?

And the Big12 is? Give me a break. Unless a ton of Miami players have left, ISU is going to get their ass kicked.

Edit: ISU did not beat one team this year that was above good.

Still burns me that Iowa gift wrapped ISU this year’s game at Kinnick. You’ll never convince me ISU was or is a better team, but for whatever reason Iowa tried to get cute on those 1st and goal situations when they could’ve and should’ve put the game away early.

That said, I think the Miami-ISU game is one of the better bowls this year. Miami should win because I think ISU benefited from playing in the Big 12 this season… and they didn’t even have to play the league’s top teams until the championship. When they did (ASU), we all saw what happened.

I’ll say Miami 34 - ISU 30.

Ward is playing. That is all I need to know about this game. I don't actively cheer against the clones. But their fans here in Ames are awful. I want them to find their way back to the trash cart that they came from.

I was walking around the Coralville mall yesterday and I noticed how many ISU shirts were out. That's when I realized to just let it be. They are in the middle of the greatest stretch of their programs histories.

Their football team really isn't that good but they were ranked almost all year. That's unusual for them.

Their men's basketball team is sadly really good. Final four good.

Their women's team started ranked in the top 10 but has proven to not be on that level. Still there was hope.

Wrestling team still in the top 10.

These are all unprecedented levels for Iowa St. It sucks but we may need to take this one on the chin right now.

Hey, I tend to cheer for ISU to be good, but their fans are mostly douchebags. With even the slightest bit of success, they act like they just killed king kong.

F them. I do hope that ISU men continue to win. I'm going to Gaetz some cyclone fans with my Final 4 and National Championship tix

But I think that's the perspective of why we are the way we are and why they are like this now.

We have been there, done that, and mostly been beaten in the big game that matters.

This is all uncharted territory for them and yes they are annoying about it.

They have been good at basketball for years. Shit, I lived 15 miles down the road during Tim Floyd era. They used to have a respectful wrestling program. They cut baseball. Football has not won a conference championship since 1912.

They can kindly go f off. Douchbaggery to it's finest.

It's a 3 point spread because Miami has also feasted on bad competition and lost 2 out of their last 3 games to Syracuse and Georgia Tech. Great offense. Not so great defense. This game will likely be close and entertaining with lots of scoring. Of course opt outs will likely also be a factor as they always are these days.

I'll admit, I have no idea about the opt out situations. I also know that Miami has shite defense. I'll own it if I am wrong and please bring it to board's attention.

Saw a couple ISU players at the store the other day, seemed like they were checked out.

Well you are communicating with an AI chat bot right now. Your request seems unreasonable and illogical.

Everyone forget about that 3rd grade art project Iowa and Iowa state played for a couple years ago? Poorly researched article. The pop tart thing isn't even the shittiest trophy one of the competing teams played for, much less any team ever.

Just the AP, Coaches, Sagarin, Massey, Vegas, and actual game result that disagree with you. That’s all.
Only because Iowa gift wrapped the game at Kinnick. Iowa is the better team, but that day Iowa State took advantage of Iowa’s strange play calling. Just like the Covid year when Iowa State beat a watered-down, depleted Oregon team, this year’s Iowa State team is benefiting from a weak schedule without really playing anyone.

SMU lost to Clemson in the championship game; who also got handled in Austin, to a lesser degree.

That takes nothing away from your valid point.

There are only two major conferences. People need to stop saying “Power 4.”

However, as was stated earlier…Iowa handed that game to the clones with piss poor play calling. 🤮 Iowa was and is a better team than isu.

Normally, I would say that Miami would kick their ass. However, the ACC is showing itself to be the worst of the major conferences, Big 12 is not far behind. The fact that Arizona St drew a bye is criminal. Miami vs ISU two bad teams from two shitty conferences.
We'll see about ASU, but I agree that it was asinine to give the conference champs the byes. Guaranteeing the four champs a spot in the CFP is just reward. The byes should go to the four highest ranked teams. It's not complicated, but the geniuses who figure these things out failed . . . again.

Miami gave up 40 points or so to Syracuse in their season finale defeat, so a 45-42 type of game is certainly likely.

Miami fans (and others) crying about getting CFP snub--here is your chance to prove it-need to win handily if they want any cred in the debate.
Don't win by 3 or stub your toe here and then say we were not interested--Miami needs to come out and prove their point or next year the ACC will only get 1 invite as will the big 12....
