COACH DeSanto!

it was a great thing when he came to iowa city. for us and for him. i am really proud of austin i think working with youngsters will be right in his wheelhouse.
Yes I agree. He has so much to offer young kids. Having to get though his own personnel battles will give him a great ability to maybe see and help others with any issues they might have. If he puts it all together, with his fire, drive, abilities, etc.... You can look forward to a great future and I hope he stays with wrestling for many many years!!!

Great hire! I was giddy when I read that as he was great with young kids clinic wise from what I had heard. Austin also has basics that are second to none in technique. Building solid foundations from good solid people is what this state needs. Go Austin!

(Really don't know) What is the Iowa City Wrestling Club?

Is it for kids up through HS? It isn't meant to be in the same space as the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, is it?

Otherwise...good for Austin. Hopefully he can help others wrestle his style...he was very fun to watch and always working to score.

Interestingly, the Iowa City Wrestling Club existed several decades ago. Kids used to train with Iowa wrestlers and coaches in the old wrestling room on the top floor of the Fieldhouse. It was a blast.

Glad to see Alex resurrecting the ICWC. It couldn’t be in better hands.

I’d love to see a video of ADS’ cardio routine. He must absolutely brutalize himself to get to his level of conditioning.
In the recent documentary, Brands jokes they should sell tickets to the Desanto warmup experience. These was some video, but he was implying his warmup is as intense as most wrestlers workout. Reminds me a little of the Randy Lewis story of Gable warming up before before getting brutalized by Gable one arm at a time.
