A few ideas.
1. Fire Ferentz and hire Bob Stoops. No explanation needed. Bob is younger and could probably coach another 20 years, easy.
2. If you watched the Vikings Sunday, Kevin O'Connell is an offensive genius. I think Iowa could probably recruit him to come on board as an offensive coordinator for the right price. He's a California guy with no connection to Iowa, but money talks. This would be the first domino as he could then convince Sean McVay to come to Iowa City as the head coach. There would be an adjustment period, but we could probably get a lot of recruits and win a lot of games. They are also young. Doubt they would jump to any other jobs once they see how amazing Iowa City is, even if Ohio State or Alabama came calling. We could probably start a can drive or something to raise money to pay their salary.
3. Jimmy Johnson won a lot and he's just on TV now. He's used to paying players so this would give Iowa a leg up on the NIL train. Jerry Jones Jr. may even be a good AD hire to replace Barta and he would probably be excited to work with a winner like Jimmy.
4. Matt Campbell?
5. Herschel Walker seems to have a lot of good ideas across the board. If he loses the senate race, might be worth kicking the tires. He also won a Heisman Trophy and we could sell the sizzle. Look at Deion Sanders. He didn't even win a Heisman and he's bringing in recruits like crazy at his crappy school.
6. I think Scott Frost has probably learned some valuable lessons the past few seasons. He could be like Pete Carroll or Bill Belichick. Just needs a second chance and he would have far less pressure in Iowa City. We could be UCF of the north plus really stick it to Nebraska.
