The previous thread got derailed and locked by an unnecessary conversation about the media asking the tough questions that was not related to the original topic.
I would like to discuss this thread a bit further. It seems Iowa is in line nationally with run % on second down, but I have two questions.
1. What is our % of plays that we lost yards on first down? Could also be asked as "what is our average distance to gain on second down?"
2. What is our % of runs that went to the short side of the field, from a power formation?
Just because our % is in line nationally, doesn't mean that we're not more predictable than other schools. I think these two questions would shed some light.
Does anyone have a source for this info, or an easy way to gather it? I'd do it if I knew where to look.
