Comical. So the police tell them to leave but that doesn’t matter because the aid that snuck them in didn’t tell them to leave?

...and they didn't "break any windows" or "smash through any doors" or "attempt to enter secure areas and interrupt lawmaking proceedings"

I didn’t equate it to 1/6. Two totally different situations.

Thing is that they where invited by congressional staffers and so they where allowed to be there. The only problem was that the staffers didn't provide them with an escort.

But congress people and their staff's run that building. If you are invited by any one of them you are allowed to be there.

The only exception would be if the building was in lockdown due to an emergency.

Without reading the entire thread, some element of this is probably a stunt for publicity since Colbert has really made the Capitol Treason Attempt by the nut jobs a centerpiece of his nightly monologe.
