Column: A Catholic pastor speaks out about Trump. Some parishioners walk out.

The Catholic Church is Pro Life and against the death penalty. So neither political party is going to align with all the religious beliefs of the Catholic Church.

Let me slow this down for you.

You said the church is pro-life, which means they are against the death penalty.

I said the federal government under Donald Trump has executed more people in the last six months than the previous 60 years combined. That’s not very pro-life behavior.

The federal government under Donald Trump has also increased federal funding for Planned Parenthood to record highs.

It kind of, sort of, seems like Donald Trump isn’t really much of a pro-life President.
Go as fast as you’d like.
My point was the church has conflict with many of it’s followers.
They will seldom be on the same side for every subject politically. That is why it’s rare for them to discuss a specific party or candidate.
A couple i’ve been to would even bring in an outside priest for the pro-life discussion, after announcing it the previous week as a warning for those who might not agree or be offended.
