Since the United States, along with an international coalition, drove Iraqi invaders out of Kuwait. Would the world be better off, and safer, if we had just let Iraq have Kuwait? The United States would certainly be untold trillions less in debt. Thousands of American servicemen and women would still be alive. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis would still be alive.

There is evidence that Kuwait was slant drilling and stealing Iraqi oil, and that a US diplomat gave Saddam the impression the US may not mind if Iraq punished them for it. Guess the invasion was too much for the US.

25th anniversary on 11/1/16. Where has the time gone?

The first Gulf War was the right thing to do, but we should have marched straight into Baghdad and finished the job then and there so there wouldn't have been a need for the second Gulf War.

I think we just time traveled into the middle of a bunch of problems and the discussion should actually start post WW1 and the West's attitude towards the Middle East.
