Company to pay almost $650,000 for child labor violations in Iowa, Virginia meat plants

“Fayette has implemented and improved upon the hiring and vetting process throughout the time period of the governmental review," it said. "Fayette is confident that all identified gaps in our program have been addressed and closed."

How big of a gaping hole in your hiring process do you have to have to let this through? Probably about as big a hole as the head splitter in Souix City could have done to that 13 year old.

This contention could have all been avoided though. What a shame Iowa R's had to pull out the provisions that would have allowed for these kids to work in dangerous conditions in that bill last year.
