We all know Iowa has a soft schedule again this season, but I was surprised to see the opposite end of things that the poor Scarlet Knights of Rutgers have to face. Those boys out East play Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Wow. The imbalance in schedules evens out over time, of course, but the annual discrepancies are mind-boggling. Rutgers could have a very good team and not win a conference game.

It's becoming clearer and clearer that teams had better be ready to take advantage of those years when they have soft schedules. Wisconsin has a softy this year and, of course, so does Iowa. We'll see who takes best advantage.

Aren't Rutgers and Maryland still on their inaugural "Welcome To The B1G" tour of all the national name brands? Nebraska faced the same gauntlet, and it was pleasant and difficult at the same time. Mr. D. wants to show off all the big brands on TV as we work toward the money renegotiation, I'm sure.

Nebraska still hasn't played Indiana. I guess TV is the main factor in all this.

I like the fact that Iowa won't play Ohio State much over the next several seasons because f*** Ohio State. If they're gonna monopolize the conference then they don't need any wins over Iowa in the process. Let them circle jerk about their own awesomeness. If Iowa gets to play them in the BTCG then great. But we need to actually get their first.

The "imbalance" for teams in the East wont be changing anytime soon.
