Misjudged that first try and compensated nicely on the game winner. Props to the dude.
I had a feeling Recinos would not miss a 2nd kick in a row there. He went out there with composure, shook off the earlier miss and drilled himself a game winner. Way to go kid!

The best kicker Iowa has had when you combine his kicks into the end zone and long range field goals. He finally got his walk off which is what fans remember.
And in the rain. Not an easy kick.
Turned into a great college kicker. He will be sorely missed.

Agree — he turned in an excellent career after a slow start. Great kid too - will be missed. Hoping he gets a shot at the next level.
Jazzman - pass this on to your son: my 7 year old likes soccer more than any sport, and this morning he went outside to kick a football around (I tried to teach him how to spiral a punt). But all season long, he has been wanting to watch Hawkeye football when there’s a kick or punt. He’s been talking about Recinos’ kick all afternoon/evening. This 7 year old will remember that kick and that Hawkeye.

I remember it well. Rob slipped and fell on that one, as they played in the rain, to beat a pesky San Diego State squad.
@rivercityjazzman, I was a year behind you in medical school. Wanted to let you know it’s been fun watching your son progress as a kicker for the Hawks and celebrate a game-winner on Senior Day! Also loved his quote about Frost trying to ice him.
