Despite another grand example of Big Ten bias last night. The first half officiating was outrageous--eight fouls called on Iowa, one on PU early, and PU ends the half with a 21-9 edge in FTs made. Game over. Iowa loses by 7.

And when the Hawkeyes were making their run late, every key call went for PU. Imagine watching your team from the bench as they work so hard only to get taken down by three biased little authoritarians with striped shirts and whistles. A foul on one end is nothing on the other end. A little Iowa guy touches a big PU guy, FOUL! A big PU guy mugs a little Iowa guy, no problem.

Anyway, I guess that's some great coaching right there by Matt Painter. He should be proud to have the nation's best team being protected by three striped shirts. It's more than talent that leads to teams being run out of Mackey Arena. That Iowa wasn't last night is a great tribute to Fran and his Hawkeyes. Playing eight-on-five ain't much fun, but Iowa never quit. When PU comes to Iowa City, if it's a five-on-five game and Iowa's best player gets to participate, well, let's see how much joy and composure and celebrating PU does then.

If I were Fran, I would have grabbed Pete the Boilermaker's sledgehammer and just started smashing computers and stuff after that Bohannon cylinder call.

Purdue has a lot of floppers. Sasha falls down after any three that is guarded trying to get the call. Ivey tumbles to ground every time he drives and isn't even touched. The foul calls discrepancy against Iowa in 1st half was pretty bad, but seems like we got a more friendly whistle in 2nd half because refs probably get graded
against excessive home cooking.

Call on Ulis blocking out for a rebound was poor, and Rebraca 5th. I don’t mind those calls if Purdue was getting them too. Rebraca has another cheap one on post defense.

Refs saw the giant gap in foul calls at halftime, came out second half and called a quick 4 on purdue to tighten up.
