Connor McCaffery Named to Academic All-District First Team

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa redshirt sophomore Connor McCaffery was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s Basketball First Team on Thursday.

McCaffery, a native of Iowa City, is a finance major maintaining a 3.5 grade point average. He leads the country in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.26) and is the only Division I player nationally with more than 95 assists and fewer than 25 turnovers. McCaffery averages six points 4.3 rebounds, and a team-best 3.8 assists per game through 26 games.

McCaffery is a two-sport student-athlete, who will rejoin the Iowa Baseball team following the conclusion of the basketball season.

McCaffery and the Hawkeyes host Ohio State tonight at 6 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tickets are available for purchase at hawkeyesports.com/tickets.
