Cortez out for the year

So with Cortez out, does Gulibon cut down to 133 and somebody like Kade Moss go at 141? Of course that depends on where Gulibon is certified...

Nick Lee?

Gotta be honest, this blew my mind. If he's really in State College training, he may have graduated early. If he did, he could enroll for the Spring semester (likely would need have done that already, but what do we know?) and compete right away. That's a truly crazy scenario I had never even thought of. Is this what the Flo guys were talking about in their FRL a few weeks ago when they said PSU might do something off the wall?

Probably not, it would take almost a month I believe for him to get down with the descention plan so he'd have to steal a spot at big tens, very risky move.

he's still in HS, doing the same thing Pico did when he decided to train and compete completely in freestyle.

Pretty lame most all Our Boards threads are PSU.
Whose site is this? Asking a moderator, I would think there would be a limit per day...
Why frequent???
Lamesauce HR straight up

Well, I'm glad to have the info to plug into my predict-a-cyber, thank you very much.:D

I'm pretty sure that it has been reported that Nick Lee has graduated HS - he finished online while in State College. He isn't suiting up this semester, however.

I don't think Cortez changes anything at all in regards to 133 or Hall being pulled out of redshirt. I posted some stats over on BWI yesterday. PSU has basically won their championships using five core wrestlers each year. The top 5 PSU scorers in their five championships have averaged 106.4 points combined with a high of 120 and a low of 89.5. In 3 of the 5 years, just these five wrestlers would have won the championship by themselves. This year PSU is probably counting on the same production from Retherford, Nolf, Nickal, Suriano, Nevills (do the math, it probably adds up barring injury). Throw in Joseph and McCutcheon.

If the above all perform, Cortez, Morelli and Gulibon may be insignificant. In only one of PSU's five recent championships, did they require scoring from 8 wrestlers to win the title (2013 over OK State). But it does take a bullet out of the chamber.

Just saw a guy on Twitter (@cpfactchecker, posts some funny stuff mainly about CP being a Penn State homer) say something about Nick Lee moving to PA this year in order to establish residency for in state tuition. I'm sure that takes a chunk off of the amount they have to use for his scholarship. Cael seems to use every advantage possible if that is true.

I can't imagine they would enroll him to wrestle this year. Seems like a risky option to me based off of him beating Alan Waters in Freestyle. With leg laces being match enders nowadays those results can be deceiving.

Because a ranked B1G wrestler is out for the year
Because a starter on arguably the NCAA favorite is out for the year
Because Iowa wrestles PSU in a dual tonight

Need more?

Agreed. And if we are to have any chance at winning this dual tonight, we need maximum bonus points at this weight, imo.

Mark Hall is still a senior in HS, isn't he like 23?

Mark Hall was 19 at the beginning of the wrestling season in his true freshman year of college

Gavin Teasedale will be 20.

I'm guessing this joke will fall out of heavy rotation on HR once Teasedale matriculates in Iowa City.
