This is not a recommendation thread but more of a PSA. I guess I have not been cultured enough to know that the Cracker Barrel now serves alcohol (apparently since 2021). If you already knew this, we’ll then, good on you.

Anywho, have a road trip coming up with the fam and I am planning logistics for the drive. One of those functions is making sure TBW and kids have enough carbs in them at the right time to make sure they don’t drive me crazy while driving.

Planning my route, there is a town that we will hit around the supper hour and the best option appears to be The Barrel. Since the drive will frustrate me and there will be NFL wild-card games on, I think it prudent that I select a restaurant that I can relax at with a cold beer and proceed to ignore my family for a solid hour. Mrs. Dragon (no pics) has agreed to finish the drive after dinner so no worries about driving while intoxicated.

I was not sure if Cracker Barrel would have booze so I looked it up because I’m not lazy AF and I like to have a plan dammit. Alas, I found a pairing guide for their menu I thought you culinary experts might find useful.

You watching the games on your phone or tablet? I wasn't aware that CB had tv's but I could be wrong.

And they let you stay in their parking lot overnight. What could be better?

Would never stop at a Cracker Barrel. Subway is a better alternative. Let that sink in.

The thread reads like OP is covering up for being a poor.
What is the covering up part?

I read it as more of a blaring neon sign shouting that.

Your take is wrong and dumb and you should feel dumb and wrong for making it.

Probably is one if I drive in town further but since we’re trying to keep on a strict driving schedule I’m looking at options right off the highway. Biscuits at CB are delightful BTW.
I like their meatloaf too. But I am a fan of peasant food.

They have this thing called airline travel that will make any trip bearable due to not driving and the opportunity to drink while on your flights.

With regards to CB, my condolences.

I've read Tuesdays with Torbee. I know dumb and wrong when I see it.
I am sorry I don't use small enough words for my Floridian fanbase. I will try to keep that in mind going forward.

And lol at thinking someone who voluntarily eats Subway "food" should be listened to on any matter of taste or intelligence 😂

You're nuts... Subway has the BEST chicken pork hotdog tuna salad

Eff this. For me, Subway is damn near rock bottom on my list of places to stop for food. There's literally not a single redeeming quality about anything at Subway. There's at least some edible things at the ol Barrel
