Cruz would/will get clobbered in the general election if he makes it that far. There's a multitude of reasons why he is so disliked in the Senate, and it's got nothing to do with his stances on policies.

The Iowa thing with Carson supporters exposed him a little late to hurt him in the caucuses.

The GOP needs votes from Independents to win in November. TeddyBoy ain't that guy.

Ted is probably the smartest guy running from either party, and it might not even be close. He is right on most political positions, but he just isn't that likable. Now, Obama is likable and one of the biggest (if not the) failures of all Presidents so maybe likability shouldn't figure in? I think it's going to be Trump or Rubio, and Trump is the only one that will pull enough Dems and independents to win.
