Cruz mentions John Bolton for Secretary of State

No, it tends to mean that you want to go to war with everyone, and crap all over the personal liberties of the common man.

Uh, well... no.

For example, using military force to ensure that international shipping is unimpeded prevents rogue nations and pirates from interfering with the liberties of our people to trade with people from other nations.

Just because you're strong on national security does not mean you want to go to war with everyone.
But in this case, it does.

No its not, its just welfare for foreigners and the rich. It undercuts the liberties of the average American.

No it doesn't. If our supply of toasters and crock pots from China are cut off, that infringes upon the liberties of Americans to buy toasters and crock pots.

Yes it does. Our supply of toasters and crock pots were cut off when we let China dump their slave wage goods into our market and subsidized it with our military spending.

Huh? The Chinese are beating down factory doors to build toasters and crock pots.

Clue: "slaves" don't willingly volunteer to subject themselves to it.
Are you not familiar with the idiom of slave wages? If you are retreating to a semantic position I assume you're surrendering the point. If you don't know what the term means google it.

Oh great, the John "Harrassment Suit" Bolton. War thirsty, ham-handed foreign policy is back. Cruz gets scarier every day.

It's not "slave wages" if people are clamoring to earn them. Factories are raising the standard of living in China.

That's exactly what I said above. It is welfare for foreigners and the rich capitalists who moved their factories to a place where they can pay slave wages.

I've thought this same thing. Make companies pay the true costs of shipping and maybe it would help bring some jobs back to the US.
