Cutting jobless benefits didn't work in Missouri, either.

Why should private sector compete against government handouts. That's a screwed up system.

We are coming off a black swan event. People needed help. Companies needed help. We paid out trillions to do it.

We are now transitioning back to a more normal market now that somebody in the WH cares about fighting Covid. Jobs are coming back. Let’s stick the landing and move on.

What percentage went to people/companies that didn’t need it or was fraudulently taken?

So? What percentage is wasted on fraudulent defense spending? On fake Medicare claims. We just wasted billions on a plane that doesn’t really fly very well and already needs to be replaced.

Just because some ****ers abuse the system shouldn’t mean we stop providing benefits to those that need them.

Spend some money to audit and track down the cheats. Thrown them in jail. That will slow their ass down.

Can we start with politicians?

You must be new to Iowa farming.
So your logic is, the goverment gives money to Iowa farmers, so the goverment should now give money to everyone? Didn't your mother ever tell you two wrongs don't make a right?

I was in favor of the goverment providing assistance to individuals and businesses who were unable to work or run their businesses because the goverment forced businesses to close. However, that time has passed and we have businesses begging for workers but many find it more profitable to sit on the arshes at home. Times have changed, keep up.

What state does not "need" money? Pull your head outta your ass, abby.
Pull your head out of your ass. The state needs economic activity not "money" that the federal goverment is simply printing to buy votes. Have you ever heard of inflation? Debt owned to China? Where does this "money" you seem to be so in love with come from?

It is not bad. It may actually be needed. So why is aid needed for farmers but not anybody else?

Because without a consistent and reliable agricultural system people will go hungry and very quickly revolt against government,.. Politicians may be corrupt but they aren't stupid,.. You always keep the fire hose on the flames that are closest to burning your ass,... Oh, and don't make it sound like only farmers receive aid, because the list of recipients is long....

I have been in charge of hiring at my company for years, so yes I do have an idea how jobs work.

From Janitor, to CEO, Everywhere is looking for people, if you can't find a job that fits your skill level, you're not trying.

That's scary that you claim to understand hiring. You must also understand that hiring is expensive and that pushing those into jobs they don't want or are not well suited for is short-sighted. They will just end up leaving and it will cost the business more in the long run. The fact is that cutting the benefits didn't alleviate the hiring problem as most predicted. Right-wingers like to oversimply things to rile up their base. They don't care if it actually true.

How does giving extra money to people not working help this issue you seem to be concerned about? There are plenty of jobs out there for those out of work to choose, I'm sure they can find something they're qualified for.
