Dare I ask - will Iowa be ranked tomorrow?

Probably 22nd. West Virginia, Wisconsin and florida will be out. Probably Mississippi State if they lose to A&M.

Not quite sure why people are hung up with polls. IF you're a team with possible final 4 playoff implications, sure, but we're Iowa. No disrespect, love the Hawks. Just keep winning, play out the season, get a great bowl.

Pitt won at V Tech today. We have 2 very quality wins now. ISU might surprise this year also. We should be in, but it doesn't matter.

And now at half time, Indiana is ahead of Ohio State by a score of (guess what!)...

10 - 6!!

:) Hmm.. If that holds up in the second half, our schedule could be getting a lot tougher on paper if we play the winner of that contest instead of the loser.

Still many more games of interest today too of teams that could drop out...

Washington State who lost to Portland State last week is beating #24 Cal now at the half so neither of them likely will be in the top 25 if that holds up.

#20 Oklahoma State losing to unranked Kansas State at the half.

Polls matter for national exposure. People talk about you more in the national media. Heck, we are on the "lead" on the bottom line of ESPN. All about exposure.

As already mentioned, all of the teams we have played so far won today as well. Anything and everything helps.

Winning at Camp Randall carries some cache. I'd say right around 20.

Maybe, big win. We need to be able to throw it more than 79 yards and make a few more big plays on offense. Really need to get the TEs involved down field!

Yes, 21-25 is my estimate. HAWKS.

"I thought it was beautiful" - Ferentz, on his thoughts post-wisky victory,
HAWKS!!

It's not a big deal, but it sure will feel nice to see them back in the rankings again.
As noted above, positive exposure is important.

I suppose, considering that we beat the 19th ranked team. Now the fact that Wisconsin is really bad and should NEVER have been ranked probably won't figure in the equation. So we might as well enjoy the ranking for a week until next week when we predictably go in the toilet and lose said ranking. I hope not, but Iowa has generally not done well after being ranked.

Lol, reverse psychology tactic. I like it! Well done, chewy.

We need to pass at least 5 teams to crack the top 25. We will jump Boise St. I think we will also jump Oregon (they play Colorado), Arizona (as long as they don't impress against Stanford), Toledo (beat Ball State), West Virginia (lost), Mississippi St (will be 3-2), and Wisconsin (lost to us).

That would put us at #23. Possibly an outside shot at jumping Cal or a 4-1 Michigan, but not likely. I think #22-24 is about where we fall in.
