I understand that the Hawks aren't necessarily a CFP-caliber team, and I realize that Iowa fans can be defensive when folks in the media don't shower Iowa with love. That said, I have to question David Pollack's comment this morning when talking about which teams might make the playoff. He said he thought any of the top 10 ranked teams -- minus Iowa -- could play with each other. Seriously? Iowa can't hang with any of the top 9? Including a Stanford team that lost to NW, who Iowa absolutely crushed?

I don't expect the media to be applauding the Hawks non-stop or predicting they're a CFP team by any means, but sometimes folks just write us off without much reasoning behind it.

Just keep winning', baby!

I know, it's disgusting listening to the national pundits. Most of which probably haven't even watched us play, but only have used other outlets to fuel their opinions.

Exactly. It's not about promoting them. But I don't see them trashing Temple...

Of course the fact that they have to mention Iowa tells me they are doing something right. And actually getting some attention.

Was wondering who that was. Today was the first time I've had a chance to watch Gameday. Turned the channel. Waste of time.

David Pollack is an SEC shill he played in that league and he works for a network that owns part of the SEC network.Do yourself a favor and find something else to do when those clowns are on.Howard sounds like a cat with his nuts caught in a vise and Corso needs to step down he is awful.

He gets paid to talk

doesn't matter what he says

he gets paid to talk

Remember the old lawyers saying

"Advise is worth what you pay for it"

and I am not paying Game Day anything

If we want to go looking to be offended as Iowa fans, we'll find it. It's always been that way at Iowa. It's HIS opinion, nothing more.

If Iowa wins out, they cannot be ignored, and he can't ignore Iowa. It's that simple.

The only time anything like that matters is when the season is completely over, Iowa is undefeated or 12-1 or whatever, and it truly only matters to those on the board that decide the 4 team playoff. Which is why I don't really worry about a talking head's opinion with 5 and maybe 6 games to go.

Stuff like that should roll off our collective backs at this point.

I look at it two ways
1. They have to have someone to criticize/"dis" - remember what the 'E' in ESPN stands for - we just need to keep winning to shut them up
2. We have to take some accountability for the brand that we have built at Iowa, we have embraced "NOT SEXY" and that does not change overnight

Another thing about Iowa, is that we are not, or really ever have been, a flashy team. (Except maybe when we had Fleming and Jeter). Baylor, TCU, have the wow appeal, but how good they are is still up for question.

I am just excited with the status of the season, and hope we keep it going. Usually a season like this would have a loss to IA St or Pitt in the non-conference part of the schedule.
