Defensive end Brian Allen Jr. made a return trip to Iowa City on Monday. Last month, the 6-foot-4, 243-pound Allen made an official visit with the Hawkeyes, but this time his mom was able to visit campus with him.

"The visit was definitely more personal and more real, which I liked."

"This visit wasn’t really for me. It was more so for my mom since she couldn’t come on my official visit there so it was a chance for her to come and check it all out and ask questions."

What did she think?

"She liked it."

Allen will camp at Penn State on Friday and then is looking to make a decision the second week of August.

What are the main factors for him in his upcoming decision?

"Education, resources, and having a good feel of the football program."

A three-star prospect, Allen has earned 19 scholarship offers during the recruiting process with a list that includes Iowa, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Kansas, and Iowa State, among others.
