Another integration dead and gone. No dates set yet, but I'm looking at a final Alpine Valley show for my last hoorah and shakedown with copious amounts of acid. Who's coming with me??

He's hinted at it. I think he enjoys the young hippie puss. Also, I hope Mayer finds a way to carry on The Dead. He’s been a welcome addition , IMO

I haven't seen any rendition of the Dead since 95. Thought of going to Soldier in 2016 but then I saw those prices, Yikes. I'll stick to the occasional Panic and Greensky show for my fix. Better product, smaller venues, better crowd, at a better price.

sad day indeed
Although can’t be too many of the original deadheads left
Meyer certainly has helped bring a new younger crop of fans in recent years
I’m not sure you can make the case panic 3.0 is a superior product to something that includes Bob Weir, Chiminti, Oteil, Billy, Mickey and Mayer. No disrespect to Jimmy Herring, but 16 years in he still lacks the soul and sound that was created by Mikey. Its fun to see Panic a time or two a year but my days of traveling to see shows ended over a decade ago. The lack of new material has diminished my interest significantly compared to say Phish, which continues to write and create new material year after year, I suppose that just speaks to how critical Mikey was to the songwriting process for the band, huge void they haven't been able to fill. He's hinted at it. To me, the issue with tempo is more evident if you try to listen to a recording of a show versus actually being there. Thought this past year the band sounded better than ever with this current lineup. I think you have to acknowledge the tempo has to be slower, my goodness Billy, Mickey and Bob are in their 70's, to expect anything different is probably unrealistic. Its a treat we can still see living legends.I’ll try and catch them at Folsom, but won’t be terribly disappointed if I can’t. Theyre still amazing, don’t get me wrong, but feel they slowed it too far down from original GD pace of play. May be unpopular opinion, but I think I prefer Joe Russo at this point
You can make a real strong case Panic is better than slow and Co if you've listened to a majority of both groups shows this year. Panic at Beacon or Fox Atl blow away anything D/C have put on since inception.I’m not sure you can make the case panic 3.0 is a superior product to something that includes Bob Weir, Chiminti, Oteil, Billy, Mickey and Mayer. I like JRAD but feel like they've gone a step too far as it relates to 'space jams'. My last show seeing JRAD at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield was probably my least favorite JRAD show to date. Perhaps it had something to do with being AF for that show, but they noodled beyond belief that night and it really got tiresome. Perhaps if I had dropped some acid or ate a few caps it would have been different, but I feel like they've taken it a step too far as it relates to essentially having space jams within and in between each song. With that being said, looking forward to JRAD on NYE
Same here man. Can't wait!Bought tickets for both nights @ Wrigley.
Let’s gooooo
