I think most on here agreed it was a pin...I saw it twice. OSU catches a lot of breaks it seems in these situations.
Where was this ref when Brooks wrestled Nickal?
Can't say I disagree with you. I shake my head when I see a few PSU fans make threads about PSU on an Iowa board, or try to tell other team's fans how to think and who to root for. Makes no sense to me. I remember my team struggling to a 16th place finish not very many years ago. It is always a wise choice to treat people well on the way up so they can give you a helping hand on the way down. Because down will happen some day, and the seeds you plant will be reaped. What I find funny is a PSU fan whining on our board about their guys. How dense are you folks nowadays?
I never quite understood why so many fans use to hate Iowa so much until PSU got this good and you see them flock to the boards. Now I think we all know how we must have been. I think they are now worse like it was so built up the arrogance could hardly be contained.
Congrats you kicked the tar out of them just as everyone knew you would but still you got hosed, huh?. You poor things! When is anyone going to give your program the proper respect!
How did Gulibon only have 2 points..?? Was this supposed pin in a neutral situation..??

Yes, and it is almost certainly why a pin wasn't called. Many get upset about it, but by now, you shouldn't be surprised by it. Refs simply do not look for the neutral/defensive fall in nearly the same way as the controlled(offensive) fall. In a controlled sitiuation, all the ref is looking for is count and fall. In neutral, he is looking for control and a fall is an afterthought. This is one of the biggest aspects that separates Folk from Free.
In Free it is certainly a pin. In a controlled situation, it is most often called a pin. In neutral/defensive it is almost never called a pin.
Brooks had Boyd pinned and didn't get the call down there. IMO Corey also got jobbed vs Brock. But hey that's Stillwater for you, its like that in all sports too.

After viewing the video, I can't agree. The ref was looking and re-looking, and re-positioning himself and putting on quite a show acting like he might call the pin.
I am a bit of a conspiracy nut first you have churella getting robbed then Evans getting robbed now jimmy. I see a patternI know I won't change anyone's mind but oh well.
Fact is, he had the best view in the house, bar none. He was in position the whole time and the shoulders have to be touching the mat for a full count. Even if there is a millimeter of space, it's not a fall. Hag is a really good official and was IN POSITION. He didn't see it and you have to trust him. He had zero reason not to call a fall there if there was one.
Don't get me going on this , my view is despite being a great wrestler stiebler lost twice both to Ramos and OliverAnother famous Hagerty no-call.....

I'm liking this simply because you had the balls to say itI know I won't change anyone's mind but oh well.

FLAT is FLAT and that is.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C5KsiM5W8AIMKJ8.jpg
Sorry, I am inept at posting pictures. This is the non-fall in question.
Can we all agree that many falls are called on contact rather than by count? Maybe Hagerty goes by the rule as written, but many do not. I suspect Hagerty doesn't either.I could argue this until the cows come home, but a picture doesn't prove a fall. Takes video to get a time count. Not saying none of the situations referenced were falls (at least one of them was, but I ain't sayin' which), just that as of now I haven't seen anything that shows me Heil was pinned even once.

Looked a little like this................. I do not understand what more the ref needed to see!

The ref looked like Hagerty, but I thought it was said that he stopped officiating a couple years ago. There must be at least one other guy who looks just like him, as I swear that every home meet I have ever seen in Stillwater has Hagerty (or the look-a-like) reffing.
If it was Hagerty, zero surprise that he missed the call.
Again, I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind but for f*&k sake, can we stop with the still frame pictures???? Wrestling is a sport of MOTION. Still frames don't tell you shit because it's not an accurate representation of what's actually occurring. You can go through any match and find still frame shots of what appear to be takedowns, falls, etc. when they are not those things. Granted, with no reaction time anymore, some of the TDs can be shown with still frames but falls? No.
Next time someone hits a roll through trying to avoid a takedown, I'm going to freeze my TV the exact millisecond the shoulders are touching the mat, take a pic, and scream about the injustice of there being no fall called.

Unless the person posting the picture actually watched the match and realizes that it was not as you described in your roll through freeze frame scenario.Again, I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind but for f*&k sake, can we stop with the still frame pictures????
