Defining game

I thought another huge positive was our guards ability to get into the paint and hit some really tough shots. That's an element we were missing last year for sure. If Joe and AU can get into the paint on a regular basis this could turn out to be a very tough team to beat.
Perkins was huge in this game and if he's gaining confidence in his shot? Look out....we might be in for a very good surprise this year....

Give Purdue some credit for defense. 3 point shooting is never going to be consistent, that’s why good defense is so important. There‘s only one player on that list who I wouldn’t want to keep taking those shots if they aren’t falling, which they weren’t.
Right now, PMac and CMac shouldn't be shooting threes. CMac should be playing less minutes.

I’ve no problem with Patrick shooting open 3s. He just hit a big one against Virginia. I think it remains a question as to how well he can shoot it, but his form looks better this year to me.

CMac, yeah. Only if there’s only one second left on the shot clock and no other option. I think it’s safe to say after 4 years that he’s not a 3 point shooter.

It's amazing how little the coaches sons have developed
Not sure how you can say that. PMac has really gotten stronger and can drive on almost anyone. He has gotten better but he needs to improve his outside shot.

CMac isn't going to get any better, he pretty much peaked physically as a freshman. He is a decent passer but his jump shot is abysmal.

One of Pat’s threes went in and out last night. A lot of his shots are right there, we’ve seen him get hot from three before, and he shoots with confidence. Zero problem with him pulling it from deep when he’s got an open look

Our inconsistent 3 point shooting is a worry, though.

it's hard to win on the road when you shoot 5-21 (24%) from 3
Well Jbo couldn't get a clean look, and Cmac probably took the most attempts so thats problematic to say the least....

It really is amazing they have not progressed much, Good point and unfortunate for Hawks.
I think its hard to say that Patrick hasn't progressed. Connor is what he is, and doesn't really fit into a role like he did with the last two years with Luka. He plays tough, with attitude and fights on the boards. He's just not a scorer, and position wise he's kind of a square peg in a round hole. He's not big enough to be a front court player and not skilled enough to be a guard...

100% agree. What a great effort by our boys.

We shot horribly from 3 and had a million fouls yet here we are.

We also played without Keegan.

That was possibly the hardest I've ever seen a Fran team play. Go freaking Hawks.

Go freakin Hawks indeed!

Beat Utah State!

Odd time to quote me after that performance, Fran. But my gosh we need to win the next one.

Sorry, not trying to pick on you.

Just trying to show that just 6 days ago everyone was excited and thought we were all this and all that.

we are not as bad as we played tonight.
