Watching the Big Ten Network' Media Day, it is apparent the Big Ten has become dysfunctional under the old and tired leadership of Delaney. There are so many teams in the Big Ten, they had to do two days for Media Days. Delaney said he wants more interesting games for the Big Ten teams, is this why Iowa is stuck playing no names like Maryland and Rutgers, and plays Ohio State every eight years in Iowa City. Maybe he was influenced by his friend Sally Mason who he praised, no friend to Iowa football. All fourteen Big ten football coaches objected to his scheduling, but he has no use for coaches. Delaney came from the East Coast and played basketball in Carolina, and he talks mainly about those schools in the East like Maryland. He never mentions Big ten charter schools like Illinois and Purdue. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Jim.

I would disagree. I mean, I don't like the 14 team conference, but Delaney has done a lot of good things for the Big Ten. And this idea that Sally Mason was somehow against Iowa football seems like a myth to me. I have never seen any evidence that she was negative towards Hawkeye football.

Sports has passed Delaney by. He's not a D1 commissioner. Unless you consider minor things like money to the conference.

Yes we would be better off sitting in ISU's position as a member of the wobbling big12! Right OP.

There are so many teams that media days went 2 whole days BOO HOO :'(

Top 5 to worry about instead:

1. Win 1 out of 4 rivalry games
2. Finish in a Top 3 in B1G West
3. Beat "no name" teams such as Maryland
4. Try to become the best team in Iowa
5. Don't lose by 35+ to the Mighty Gophers

You're gonna cry a river over being handed the easiest schedule in the entire conference several years in a row? Oh, the humanity! Poor us! So neglected!

Who wants to talk about Illinois? Tim Beckman is all over the national news for beating his players. Yeah, let's talk about that! He should highlight the B1G by talking about Purdue who is 1-15 in the conference the last several years. Good call.

You are so delusional and out of touch with reality you don't even know what a dysfunctional commissioner looks like. The B1G was 7-1 vs the ACC last year in fball and also beat them in the bball challenge for how many years in a row? B1G slayed both teams who played in the SEC CG last year (Bama, Mizzou) along with Auburn, and the Big 12 champion, and the Pac 12 champion, and won the National Title. That would be a FUNCTIONAL commissioner who's moving east and snagging league members a crap ton of cash.

Just be happy Iowa is in a secure spot during conference realignment instead of pouting about the 14 teams and schedules. Because Iowa would end up in the MWC and you would be watching your Hawks vs Air Force on cstv.com.

Delaney sucks and the 14 team B1G sucks, but none of that has anything to do with why Iowa is bad at football right now.
