Great insight on why the Democrats lost. If you have the time and enjoy this stuff please give a listen to the breakdown.

Essentially what it comes down to is the Democrats are in massive trouble for future elections. Also, the current path they are still on is a losing path aka what you see the left freak out on here on the daily.

Big takeaways on the current electorate:
-The majority of Americans don’t give a shit about what you are yelling about and tune it out.
-They still vote with their pocket books and trust the right more on the economy.
-Massive swing from young voters to the right, especially young males.
-Massive swing on immigrant communities to Trump.
-People over 75 voted for Kamala.
-What people trust Democrats on are issues they could care less about (abortion) vs the more important issues (inflation)
-The left are too far left for most of Americans and they need to move towards the middle more. Even if you think Biden was a moderate, the further left folks push people to the right.

I think you are seeing a lot of what was learned through these numbers being worked on in real time. The left doing the cringy women fight tiktok deal to reach out to young people and Schumer voting no on the government shutdown.

as a trump fan, I am 100% glad these two are on the case. I think they are smart and are probably hitting on the right stuff for what is wrong with democrats now, I love that they are very quiet and feminine sounding. it's like public radio on anti-steroids. I am so glad they are weenie boys. " I am just going to start with this slide over here..." just shoot me now. ha ha

I’m not buying that either party is ever really in that much trouble. Whoever is in power will surely screw it up.
it comes down to individuals. love him or hate him... trump is dynamic. jazz hands crockett and AOC, while not bad looking or anything, have no dynamic personalities to bring. schumer is a crotchety old man. yes, when trump is retiring and vance is running, yes then we can look at repubber personalities. yes.

I pointed out what they needed to become after Trump's first win: a worker's party. Return to their roots. Stop being so controlled by their fringe special interest groups. Nothing wrong with being more socially liberal, but don't let the fringe on those issues define you.

I think

FALSE. They voted with the biggest propaganda reach, and based on fear, not facts.

-They still vote with their pocket books and trust the right more on the economy.
Again: Propaganda - Economy has performed FAR better under Dem policies AINEC
And "conservative" positions now on tariffs are gutting our economy.

-Massive swing from young voters to the right, especially young males.
That's how online propaganda works!

-Massive swing on immigrant communities to Trump.
Again, propaganda, and those immigrant communities sure regret what they voted for now!

-What people trust Democrats on are issues they could care less about (abortion)
Weird, because in every place abortion is on the ballot, people vote the Dem position. Probably because the GOP propaganda that they "won't outlaw it" works, and they go fast and furious to outlaw it

-The left are too far left for most of Americans
No, they are not. This is a GOP-manufactured myth. When people vote on actual ISSUES, they vote with Dem positions.
They WANT sane gun control; they WANT abortion rights thru the 2nd trimester; they WANT the rich to pay their share of taxes; they WANT immigration and legal status for immigrants who will work here

A lot of the points they're making were again things I said after the elections in 16 and 20:

1) Trump's triumph in 16 wasn't simply about racial politics... moreso class. (Remember that this was a really mainstream left view for a while)

2) The numbers soon started indicating the left was actually losing minority voters... which would be a really weird response if it were simply pro-white racial politics. (I reasoned that if the response to Trump was moreso class, you would stand to lose more minority voters)

3) Identity politics was a losing strategy; class related issues were clearly more pertinent.

Nevertheless, I voted against Trump 3 times and stand by that decision. (Trump and Trumpism remains a blight on American politics)

The last decade of politics was a confidence booster where my analysis and criticisms were concerned. They've aged pretty well. I think if you can disengage from party politics enough, sample enough (intelligent) opinion, and follow your nose, so to speak, you'll end up pointed in the right direction more times than not.

Argue with the Data scientists that came to these conclusions Joe. Send them an email with your thoughts too! But in typical Joe fashion, you have to be right!!!

This is the issue right now colonoscopy. You will see it in this thread and currently with Joe in his “I am right “ mode going against Data scientist haha.

Trump has already told us why he won.

Yes, America is full of dumbasses who have no concept of what this country was founded upon.

the problem is the dems want no classes or one big class. no workers any longer. a big country on welfare, handouts. don't have to work.

This is the only one I think may have an impact. The last generation of people to ride bikes without helmets, jump in creeks with their sneakers on, play "Smear the Queer" and "drink water from a hose", all now have kids that are turning voting age. And nary a one of them gives a flying fvck about "the end of democracy".

Ezra Klein and David Shor are people that supports Fascists? That’s a hot take

I find Trump to be the opposite of dynamic. I find listening to him to be a total bore, just like every politician. I am extremely confused by these people that can be excited listening to him ramble on incoherently.

I don't know who those people are. Democrats have things they need to work on, for sure. But this is a symptom, not a fix. For the most part, the same people who were in charge when Hillary lost are still in charge now. There needs to be accountability for losing elections.

I don't believe that anyone posting here really cares.

Party political strategy is discussed with the exact same mile-high attitude as airplane crashes, neither of which are productive or realistic.

My kids (ages 18 to 23) do. And the apathy of their peers infuriates them. In general, you may be correct but it's not as black and white as you state.

Dems lost because of unlimited spend on propaganda.
Most Dem positions are consistent w/ what Americans actually want. What voter got was Project2025, which the propaganda "brushed off" as not being what conservatives stand for. Guess what happened?
Haha, I hope the dims believe this too🤣🤣🤣

I haven't listened to this yet, but while I don't necessarily disagree with the statements on their face, I think the larger issue is the “perception equals reality” conundrum. The republicans have done a masterful job of shaping people’s perceptions of how things are and who is responsible for what. That is what is reflected in this data.

Joe (or whomever) may have correctly pointed out that the findings are not “reality”. The conundrum is that it may not matter.

Oh I’m sure it’s not. However, oddly enough, most of my friends are anti-MAGA and most of them say they can’t figure out how or why their kids (middle school aged through college) are all in on Trump. These are friends from Philly, CT, Florida and elsewhere. And I’d say about 80% of the kids I teach (and probably coach) are definitely in the young republicans club.

Exactly

And Democrats do not own the largest social media platforms on the planet that can push that propaganda to hundreds of millions of people.

UK learned this w/ Brexit (which a majority of them now regret, and they want back in).

It's probably because I ramble on incoherently. He just does it better and with the New York accent.
