Depth win

I like what both Harding and Thelwell bring to the court. Drew is more of a finished product and Brock can learn from his experience. I do see Brock developing into an effective leader, given time.
No no no. You’re supposed to pick one side in the Harding/Thelwell debate. There’s no room for both to play at certain minutes throughout the game. It’s one & only one!

I said before, we’re blessed to have two very competent points this year.

To think that both Sandfort and Dix can have an off night and we still win? That’s gold.

It’s a bad place to be in when you’re frustrated with Payton chucking it up unsuccessfully. It’s what he does. And Pryce was no better. Payton also seemed to be showing off his “NBA” chops, to no avail.

And, after tearing apart the box score, we had 5 guys chip in 5 or more points after the leading scorers.

Got outrebounded. Concerning.

Shot poorly from both stripes.

Poor TO:Asst. Better learn from that.

10 steals was nice. Defense seemed, at times, to be present.

Fully appreciate the floor time Koch received.

Overall, a good win vs the most legit team we’ve faced. Overcame a lot of failings.

What was with Dix? When he played in the second half, he wasn't even looking to shoot. He didn't accomplish a thing all night. With Dix and both Sandforts taking the night off, it was pretty nice to see Iowa get a 10-point win against a decent team anyway.

Koch looks to have an aggressive edge that we haven't seen in a while. He can shoot, and when the ball goes up, he goes for the rebound with energy seldom seen in Iowa City.

Thelwell was awesome in crunch time. Two huge threes and some outstanding defense. I like Harding too, but he does have some learning to do. Still, he makes some brilliant passes. Just gotta develop better judgment. But the talent is there.

Overall, a pretty impressive win that featured lock-down defense when it mattered most. And as we know, defense travels, so with such depth, this team has a chance to be pretty decent.

I like Brock A LOT but frustrated when he dribbles so fast into the paint with no shot and has to pass to someone and turns it over.
Reminds me of Tony P.

It’s been mentioned in other threads numerous times that he injured his wrist. Fran mentioned this post game.

With 6’10 and 6’11 in the front line for WSU, I expected to be out rebounded. We fed decently but it is an area that needs improvement before the Big Ten season starts. ISU will hammer us unless we improve

I believe our rebounding will be improved this year. Replacing PMac and Krikke with Traore and Koch is a major plus. And Thelwell will rebound well at the guard position. While Brock's vision is amazing, IMO Thelwell does more to help us win overall and I'd like to see him start and get the majority of minutes.

It becomes a battle of wills. Will you do the dirty work to get them or back down get destroyed on a ball that’s 50% yours?

Koch did show some rebounding chops which was good to see.
