Desmond King Jim Thorpe award winner

Sounds like he's a projected 3rd rounder right now and that scouts think there are 5 standout corners that will go early, king isn't one of them.
I really really hope he comes back.

I liked when he answered the first question and Chris Fowler was kind of like, "woah, well said, good answer" or something along those lines. I was impressed with Desmond.

After winning the Thorpe award, I think he will declare for the draft.
Really hope you're wrong. He waits a year he will make more money. He's a 3rd-4th round draft pick this year. He can easily move up to 1st round with a strong senior season and that pay day is significant.

I hope you're right but how does another strong season mean he'd go from 3-4 rd. to 1st? He just won the Jim Thorpe award and I can't imagine his stock getting much higher. He won't get faster or jump higher in the next 12 months, and if just getting a year older meant you jump 2 or 3 rounds then nobody would ever leave early. I'm excited he's coming back, it proves some of these guys love college football as much as we do!

Des did well on the interview, thanked everyone including the Thorpe family and didn't use 50 "you knows" like most interviewed atheletes.

Well for starters there are several corners graded above him in this draft with better measurables. He's not gonna go in the first two rounds regardless of Thorpe award. That doesn't mean that much to scouts. Means he was s productive college player not certainly not a sure fire indicator of NFL success.
Next year, yes he can get bigger faster and stronger and improve his 40 time and ability to jump. He's still young for starters. He won't have the guys graded above him to deal with in the draft. Any sort of season resembling the one he had this year will easily boost his draft stock. Even if he's not as productive, it likely will be because people are avoiding him and that will show.
I'm certainly not advising him but he's not gonna hurt himself at all by choosing to stay. He's a corner. The rigors of posting NFL corner are not what they are at other positions and good corners have lengthy careers, lots of time too earn that money. Dez is gonna have that chance, but he'd be looking at a bigger payday a year from now.

I loved his line when asked why quarterbacks keep throwing to him. "I don't know, but if they keep doing it, it will keep getting intercepted." Brilliant answer. Lmao.

More than that, though, I love the genuine emotion on his face. None of that fake-polished bullshit. Real as f***.
