Desmond King

I can still recall thinking very early in his Freshman year "I love the way that kid plays". But I had no idea how good he was to become. People like to talk about Bob Stoops, Merton Hanks. Micah Hyde, Bob Sanders, and all the rest of the many fine defensive backs we have had at Iowa over the years...but Dez King stands as tall as any of em.

I have a feeling josh is about to join them.

I went back to relook at the recruiting rankings because I remember many of them being 2 stars. Its remarkable how good Iowa has been at identifying D-back talent. I can't get back to Sanders class, but counting him. 8, 2-star D-backs have played in the NFL for us, not counting 2 or 3 walk-ons out of 18 NFL DB's in KF's era. Also not counting Jackson.

Something else struck me...we don't sign near as many 2 stars as we used too. Now part of that feels like Rivals has more 3's and does a better job of identifying players past the top 250/300 than they used too. All the same I've said many times, since the 2009-2012 time frame, our recruiting has taken a huge jump.

As a long time Steelers fan I've always hoped Tomlin would grab some Iowa players. King would've been a perfect fit
