From an OSU POV, but still good data.

http://www.cleveland.com/osu/2017/10/explaining_big_ten_night_games.html

2015: 19 night games. 15 in control of Big Ten TV contract. Of 15 controlled games, 7 on ABC/ESPN and 8 on Big Ten Network.

• 2016: 23 night games. 18 in control of Big Ten TV contract. Of 18 controlled games, 7 on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 and 12 on Big Ten Network.

• 2017: 25 night games. 23 in control of Big Ten TV contract. Of 23 controlled games, 8 on Fox/FS1, 7 on ABC/ESPN, 9 on Big Ten Network.

I counted up the night games for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons, two on the old TV contract and one on the new TV contract. Here they are:

12: Ohio State, Nebraska

11: Michigan State, Minnesota

8: Penn State

7: Michigan, Iowa

6: Wisconsin, Rutgers

4: Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois

3: Maryland, Purdue

Here are the road night games (again, all games, not just Big Ten-controlled games) for the last three years:

8: Ohio State, Michigan State

7: None

6: Minnesota

5: Michigan, Nebraska

4: None

3: Penn State

2: Maryland, Wisconsin

1: Indiana, Illinois, Iowa

0: Rutgers, Purdue, Northwestern

Obviously the road game for Iowa is Penn State last year

The home games I believe are Pitt and Minnesota in 2015, Iowa State and Michigan in 2016, Penn State this year... Help me out what am I missing. Apparently 2 home night games

List says we've played 8 total night game

1. Pitt 2015
2. Minnesota 2015
3. Iowa State 2016
4. Michigan 2016
5. Penn State 2016
6. Penn State 2017

Must have counted BTCG ur right

"He's both, always has been."

At the very end of the article, Meyer's reason for opposing 4 night games is too hard on the players because they get back in Columbus at 4 or 5 in the morning. This is a very reasonable concern, particularly over the course of a season. Either the players miss out on a full day of rest or on some practices. Not good for the players or the team. Meyer's concern here is reasonable.

He’s still a whiner, and a jerk. He certainly is at Ohio, was at Florida, was at Utah, and probably was at Bowling Green.

And when are they supposed to do their homework?

"[Meyer] He’s still a whiner, and a jerk." Why don't you back that up with examples. Otherwise, your comment is just uninformed name-calling.

Will mention that Meyer's objection to too many night games is consistent with his objections to an 8-game playoff, which he believes would be too hard on the players and their families. Would point out that OSU would probably get into a 8 game playoff about 60-70% of the time, and it will probably get into the 4-game playoff about 25-30% of the time. So, it is against OSU's football interest to oppose an 8-game playoff.

So with twice as many teams you feel you'd get in twice as often? That's reasonable. However you're also twice as likely to lose....

Examples are too numerous to mention. You would notice it also if not looking through scarlet glasses. One day Urban will cry and leave Ohio. You will then see him for his true self.

Thanks for your concern. Ohio State's players do pretty well academically. http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/genrel/102814aae.html You are right that the away night games take away from their study.

Cool story.

Don’t take it too seriously.

Do the TAs who write papers and take tests for the football players actually travel with the team? I didn’t know that. Link?
