Deuce Hogan 2020 QB announcing this friday.

I'd love to be done w/2020 QB recruiting in June 2018.

The idea that the staff could have that locked up, knowing this kid is solid with the things he has said, would be amazing. KoK helping with other recruitting and the staff taking that off the mental checklist. Yugeeeee..

I will be pleased by the announcement but to be clear, the earliest he can actually sign is Dec 2019, right?

Umm, actually he WOULD be signing in December of 19 if he graduates in May of 2020. The 2019 kids will be signing in Dec 2018 (6 months from now).
But 18 months is a long time to wait for a kid to be able to sign. His JR and SR years will come and go between now and then.

Hogan would certainly be a very nice pick-up. I know that he is rated higher by Rivals but honestly, I don't see that much difference on tape between Hogan and '19 QB commit Alex Padilla.

The QB position looks very solid IMO. Spencer Petras looks like a future star. Don't forget about Peyton Mansell who is probably the next man in if something happens to Stanley early this year.

This would be nice to get the qb locked up this early then Iowa can focus on rb especially Gavin Williams he is a special talent in Iowa. But Michigan has already come in and offered

I have a strong instinct Swarm20 will be starting off with a bang just a few short days before July 4th! What a way to get the class rolling and spice up the Dead Period! Hogan is going to be a great one!

I haven't seen a ton of tape on Hogan ... but what I've seen suggests that he works between the hashes really effectively. Furthermore, he completed a pass over the middle that was in a really tight window over the LB ... really nice throw (kinda ballsy too ... a pass that Rudock would never have attempted). What's more, concerning Deuce, is that he has really nice "size" for a pro-style QB. While Russell Wilson has proven that you don't need to be tall to be a great QB ... having some height is nice in terms of vision (and for finding passing lanes).

To be honest, I liked what I saw from Padilla on tape too. He maneuvers well in the pocket and it seems like he really makes good decisions with the ball. Those attributes are really important to see in pro-style QBs too.

I hope no opponent sacks him...they will have dropped the Deuce in that event...

a note on RB Gavin Williams 247 Crystal Ball shows he 67% to ISU and 33% to Iowa. for some reason I have no problem with that.
