Hidden inside the podcast were Basabe's comments that Dev couldn't work out that much because no body on the Iowa team could guard him or challenge him.During his Sr year Dev was often our ONLY offense. Man we were really guard poor during this time and it is amazing we did as well as we did, record wise. Marble has a nice NBA career going for him so far with 2 solid years in the league. Hope he has a good 3rd season and can sign a new contract at some point. His body has filled out and he has gotten a whole lot stronger. Too bad he couldn't have sat out his first season at Iowa but we needed him bad.

I dream of 3 All Big Ten guards on the court at the same time. For the Hawks, of course.

Would Dev have even considered staying a 5th year with his NBA aspirations?

Would Dev have even considered staying a 5th year with his NBA aspirations?

Possibly, given his age. Had he stayed for a 5th season, he still would have been the average age of a 4th year senior by the time he left. Probably would have come down to whether he thought he had more areas of his game to improve. He got better each year he was here and I could have seen him being a possible Player of the Year candidate if he had one more year after the 13/14 season, which could have significantly helped his draft stock. For example, what if Uthoff had left after his 4th year? I think he probably would have gone undrafted. After his monster year as a 5th year senior, he now has an outside shot of being a first round draft pick.

Dev is probably up there with Aaron White as my favorite player of the Fran era. I think even I am guilty a bit of forgetting how good Dev was in his time here, especially his final season.

Played in 28 games this year, 16 last year. He averaged fewer minutes this year than last

I believe he has one year left on his 3 year contract but I don't think it is guaranteed.

The contract will be for three seasons, according to an industry source familiar with the terms of the contract.

Marble’s rookie season will be fully guaranteed.

His second and third seasons are non-guaranteed

This and more information about Marble's current contract can be found by clicking on links from here.

His original contract called for just his first year to be guaranteed but he made it through year two. If I understand this right his 2016-2017 contract will be guaranteed if he isn't waived before July 15th. In that scenario I guess he would then become an unrestricted free agent.
