...in the post game interview with holly rowe, her comment to CC about winning for the common man, or something similar? what is that supposed to imply? perhaps you didn't notice from all the blow by layups in the game, but you're talking to the most gifted athlete on the court, holly. give some damn credit where credit is due. just because she doesn't have as much melanin or wear fake freaking eyelashes like the other team's players doesn't make her common in any way, shape or form.

unless i totally missed the point (and since this is e*sec*pn, i don't think i did), that was a complete bs question and commentary in general. eff that. let's win this thing.

I think Holly reported during the game that coach Bluder had said something about common people accomplishing uncommon things to the team during their shoot around.
Or something like that.
This. It’s a fairly common sentiment, and flattering to the Hawks. Individuals coming together as one to take down a 36-0 juggernaut.

Holly Rowe is about the last person who would attempt to belittle the Hawks. Anyone who’s watched her chemistry with Kirk over the years knows that.

Plus I’d say Rowe would be the definition of a common person winning a pretty good job that she has. I doubt she would mean any bad about it

what i did notice were the comments from the SC Coach and players insinuating that Iowa got away with a lot of physical play. That is hilarious. Watching Clark getting knocked sideways going to the hoop with no call as well as numerous bumps and hand checking while bringing the ball up court. South Carolina was physical and Iowa did not back down. SC women were not used to that.

this i did not know. thank you for the clarification and this context does change my view of her comment.

just seemed like an odd take when talking to the player that pretty much single handedly took out the def natl champs. apologies, my bad.

i understand it's a common cliche, and when it's self-described as by Lisa in this case then, yes, it's appropriate.

but... it's not like Iowa is some cinderalla story, 30-6, #2 seed, AP #2 going into the tourney, best player in the nation. they were making it sound like Iowa winning was unthinkable. if those 2 teams played 10 times it could end up 5-5.

SCarwill be watching the Championship game, just like 65 other teams.
