Did Big Ten Officiating leave Big Ten teams unprepared for NCAA?

Watching these games, they don't resemble the Big Ten games I watched this year.

The Rules are enforced differently in this tournament

Where is all the grabbing, holding, pushing, slamming.

Just saying the the officiating in big ten doesn't mirror how games are officiated across the country or in the tourney

They have to play a different style when the grabbing, pushing, etc... isn't alowed

I was worried about it going into the big dance but after watching the big ten play in the tourney my opinion is it is not the refs it is the big ten. the big ten simply is not as good as everyone thought they were. One loss here or there ok but 2 - 2 seeds losing 1-1 seed losing and 1-4 seed losing before the sweet 16 says the big ten was not good

No, i think i know what you mean; my point though is that we need some athletes to compete in the tournament, before we start worrying about how the refs call a game.

Yeah we play geto /street ball and don’t know how to play the way it was intended

Blaming officials in anyway has no purpose. Oregon made their plays and made their shots Iowa didn’t.

If you read what I posted, it in no way said the officials in the Iowa Oregon game cost Iowa the game.

My point was that all the Big Ten Teams went thru the season where the Big Ten officials allowed excessive physical contact the whole season. The players had to adjust to the physical play to compete.

The games I viewed of Non-Big Ten schools, the officials didn't allow as much pushing, holding, hand checking, etc....

By the time Big Ten teams got to the NCAA they were conditioned for the physical play but the officiating in the Tourney was more in line with the rest of the country and the Big Ten teams had to adjust on the fly and most didn't do well and lost.

I think for the big ten teams to have success down the road one of the things that needs to happen is the big ten needs to adjust its style of play. The big ten officials need to call big ten games consistently like they are called across the country and how they will be called in the tourney

You look at the teams that beat Iowa this season, they all had a couple of things in common.....they were quick, they could shoot and they could jump.....Hell, Indiana beat us TWICE! This Oregon team is quite a bit like Indiana and UMichigan. It was gonna be a dog fight today, regardless......

But I still love my Hawkeyes....warts and all!
