Did it really take Frost only 4 games to begin throwing his players under the bus?

Disclaimer: I could care less if Nebraska ever has success again.

I like Frost. He's right about discipline. You don't do a victory dance on a tackle when you're 20 points behind or talk trash or take cheap shots etc.

The irony of this is that Frost was part of a championship run fueled by Nebraska bringing in guys of low character who played undisciplined, over-the-top football. Nebraska consistently "out recruits" Iowa because those kind of players know Nebraska will allow them to do whatever they want during their time there. So Frost is having to live in the sewer he helped create 20+ years ago. I just hope none of those undisciplined players break into his house.

The double irony is that in game celebrating and or acting cocky when winning is " To the victors go the spoils" but when done when losing is "undisciplined".

Reminds me of Alford.
His other problem is it seems like Erik Chinander seems way over his head but has a lot of recruits.
Nah, think he might actually end up being their Lickliter. UCF IS 4-0, and will probably win 11 or 12 games again this year and next as well, while Frosty might not even have Debbie bowl eligible for 2 more years.

Living large in Omaha these days as GBR is still a dumpster fire. It appears that a lot of players (and fans) are taking Frost's and the AD's arrogant, better than thou behavior.

Frost - if a player quits the team because he doesn't want to be there let him go. Instead you need to blast the 19 year old kid for leaving to play somewhere that fits his style. Hi Pot, this is the Kettle, oh by the way, you're black. You did the same thing as a player, so shut your mouth, show some class and wish him well. If you don't want to wish him well, say he is no longer with the team. Bottom line: You are 38 years old, be an adult.

Frost - After being on the short-end of the scoreboard by 7 TDs, don't tell you're next opponent, they suck by saying "our next game is winnable". What did you see in your team that rolled over after losing the coin toss? I cannot fathom what you saw in your team that would lead you to make that statement. Even the sideline reporter made a comment that the Purdue players were asking GBR "this is your winnable game?"

Frost - at BTN days when you haven't coach in the B10, don't make stupid comments about the B10 teams needing to modify their system because you are the coach at Nebraska. But you were right, Michigan did need to make changes while playing on 9/22; they had to change their substitution pattern to bring the 3rd string in before halftime instead of the normal pattern where they start subbing in with 8 minutes left in the game.

Frost - If you are going to call out your players 2 weeks into the season, don't do it in the press. Just shows you are losing the team and desperate. What are you going to do after starting 0-6?

Frost - You don't like coaching a team with a lack of discipline (or smarts), you're the head coach, do something about it. Looking at the bullets above, all have one thing in common; talk is cheap.

Frost - Hopefully you bought refundable tickets to the B10 Title Game on 12/1, unless you are planning to take the team on a field trip so they can watch how B10 Football is supposed to be played.

Moos - As much as I hate Harbaugh and Meyer, why would you make a comment that they "should be running scared"? You put a target on this team and Harbaugh wasn't going to let up. The only question about OSU is will they have to punt against Nebraska for the 1st time since 2012?

Recommendation to Nebraska: Be good and classy on the field before talking anymore smack.

Maybe he should keep letting the players do their dance off before every kickoff even when down by 20+.

It seems that "that attitude" has been festering well before Frost showed up. I don't think Nebraska will have any kind of success they once enjoyed and the fans and players haven't accepted that yet.

The blah attitude of the Riley years mixed with the poison left by Pelini will linger for quite a while.

2 things:
1- Frost just needs to STFU for once (or don’t bc I don’t mind watching him dig his way out of a hole)
2- UCLA and Nebby are winless- maybe that Oregan offense when the 2 coaches were there was just a flash in the pan? Or maybe credit needs to go to the D there to limit opponents? I’d rather win 3-0 than to lose and put up 600+ yards. Unfortunately we have some on here that think that’s “too boring”

"I'm tired of coaching an undisciplined team". Then doing something about it, you douche. You're the head coach that sets the tone.
To be fair.....that is easier said than done, especially when it's been engrained and tolerated for so long.

Frost is basically gonna be like Ferentz- Year One.......but with a much more undisciplined group of players.

And no Frost is not Ferentz.

I don't think it's surprising or even unexpected that Nebraska is having a rough first year under Frost. I think what's funny is how very few Nebraska fans were in touch with reality coming into the season.

I'd say a majority of them were expecting a team a little better than last year with an outside shot of making a bowl game, which was wishful thinking. Then there were a fair amount of ass-clowns who were expecting the team to be competitive in the B1G the moment Frost stepped on campus, with many predicting a conference championship in 2-3 years. Reading some of the crap they would spew on this board about how the team was suddenly 2-deep strong at every position was just priceless.

In short, Nebby fans are getting what they had coming.

Nebraska has some of the dumbest players I have ever seen. They had the third most penalties in FBS before yesterday. They might have the lead now. Just incredibly stupid penalties.

Yes. I’m torn about how to best deal with this- whether the press conference comments are too public or not- and he’s starting to bench players, I have to believe the coaching has been straightforward about discipline and restraint in these matters.

No coach in the country trying to fix it is going to shrink away from the elephant in the room.

Nebraska's reputation and brand has been so damaged in the past 15 years that I'm not sure it's repairable at this point. With all the changes to the rules on offense, scholarship limits, recruiting disadvantages, etc.

Are they now Minnesota? Minnesota had 40 years of being a top-tier program, then just became another team.

Or, have they become Kansas (i.e. a team you schedule on Homecoming, that you can just line-up against amidst a week of distractions and beat physically)?

Jesus, that was brutal. It's a crossroads moment for this program...yesterday's game was some of the worst football I've ever seen played (and I've watched a ton of Iowa State games).

If you don't have the horses to execute your system, then one thing you can have is discipline and guts. This team has very little on which to hang a hat...I hope for the respect of the conference they get it turned around soon.

The sad truth is that it's a toxic environment over there...a caustic mix of delusional fans and alums, undisciplined players, and a coaching staff that is in way over their heads with a system that is a bad fit for the conference. I truly hope they start playing better because frankly...it's embarrassing to us all. I just don't see it happening any time soon...

Agree with everything except the part where you hope they turn it around.

An undisciplined team is a sign of bad coaching. Any team, no matter how little talent, can be coached to be disciplined.

If there is someone to be blamed for an undisciplined team, it is the head coach.

Right there with you on that. No matter what the score, the excessive celebration is really over the top. I'd be willing to bet if an OL did a dance in front of the DL he just bulldozed for a long run, he draw a flag for taunting.

This sums it up pretty well. All in the name of bragging about stars & looking good on paper in February. It's all an illusion for their program & fanbase.

Nope. Consider the W-L poll was taken on the Husker Rivals board just before the start of the season. An overwhelming majority of Nebraska fans voted 7-5 or better.

Online fans tend to be more hardcore but I would submit that these predictions were essentially in-line with the expectations of the larger fan base. I think its fair to say that virtually all Husker fans (90%+) assumed bowl eligibility (6 wins) as a bottom line outcome - this despite the daunting schedule, the implementation of a radically new offense, and the certainty of a inexperienced freshman starting at QB.

The hype generated in the Spring going forward sparked a fever which grew into a mania. Reality intervened. Now Frost is dealing with the consequences.
