didn't take long TE commit Allen

Amazing how that works. Iowa would not have offered if they thought he would contribute. I understand him staying home.

my post was to show that his not being rated at this time of the year was only temp. so those that were chiding NB for getting a NR recruit was silly, as much as I like to give the husker fans that come to this board a hard time,

Looks like a case of, add some stars to the kid because he committed to a "Blue Blood" school (can we still call Nebraska one?) so he must be good, to me.

UCLA offered him only a couple days after he committed, He's probably very deserving of his medium 3* ranking (5.6). Rivals will update rankings a few times throughout this year.

Misleading thread title. Wouldn't have opened it If I knew it was about a non-Iowa commit.

He was probably the least exciting offer this year. I'm confident we'll be fine.

I know Nebraska really wanted a TE out of Michigan. They offered and then Michigan offered and he went to Michigan. Can't think of his name but Michigan buddy told me about that one.

at least nebbie fans are less annoying than clone fans are. at least Nebraska is a conference opponent,

face whether some of like it or not they will be the end of season rivalry for some time. plus IA and Nebraska will go head to head for future recruits

Notre Dame hasn't won anything of note since the 80's...you consider them one? Thought so.

Fact is, all programs in the "middle of nowhere" get screwed by these services when it comes to in-state talent evaluation. They primarily look at offers. If a kid from Iowa only gets offered by the Hawkeyes...5.5 3* or so...with some other regional offers...5.6 3*, etc. Seems to be the case for everyone in the area.

You're preaching to the choir. Ive said on here many times that I think the star system is shit.

I know that the OP is Kilroy and this is all irrelevant and probably not even true... but if it's true the kid committed to Nebraska and went from a no/low star to a 3 star overnight, it wouldn't be the first time we've heard this story. These recruiting services love them some Blue Bloods.

Austin Allen is easily one of the best prospects in the state of Nebraska. Has offers from regional schools, including Iowa and Nebraska, and also UCLA.

Ranking him a 5.6 3* has nothing to do with blue blood status. That's about right and not uncommon to see with those offers. Rivals is saying he's an average recruit, on paper...which is true.

I guess I've never seen anyone say anything about a guy getting a very average rating with offers from 3 different power 5 conferences. NBD

You crafty little devil!

By the way, since it's obvious English is your second language; what is your first?
