Here are all the dunks in Vines. I don't think the right guy won.

Why don't they raise the rim of the NBA to 11'? I'm not impressed by these guys dunking at 10" when your average high school kid can do it.
They've moved the three-point line back, why not raise the rim?

It would mess up their shot too much. Why don't they raise the rim of the NBA to 11'? I'm not impressed by these guys dunking at 10" when your average high school kid can do it.

You're not impressed by humans jumping over other humans, crossing the ball through their legs in mid-air, and executing a dunk on a 10' hoop? Really?
It's debatable, but I could concede that an average high school kid can dunk. But there are not many, if any, Wade Lookingbill types at any level pulling off the athleticism these two did in the dunk contest.
There are only a small handful of players today dunking more easily than Dr J did. The only reason he didn't do the things they did last night is because no one back then thought of doing it.I agree with you on the athleticism, however, I just think the rim is too low for modern day basketball players. Theses guys are taller and can jump higher than their counterparts 20 years ago. It just seems keeping up with the times and adjusting things to the people who play the game today.

Um, no. Moving the 3 point line is simply a matter of distance. Guys were already shooting out there. But raising the height would alter every last shot for every last player. You can't have people spend their entire lives cultivating a shot specifically designed for 10 feet, but then suddenly change that. When they moved the three-point line back, that most certainly messed up their shot, but they adjusted and are now sinking shots way past the line.
They would be fine, IMO.
