Disney had already delayed the Lake Nona project to 2026 in June 2022

And now they’ve outright cancelled it. What’s your point?
Have you seen Disney's stock price? They don't have the money. They're bleeding cash on every film they make right now. Look how many hundreds of millions were lost on lightyear, strange world, etc. Even their cash cow marvel is dying on the vine. Wokeness has cost the mouse and its shareholders a LOT of money.

Kathleen Kennedy is also about to get canned when indigenous Jones 5 flops at the box office but that will probably be a net positive for disney in the long run. Question is if eiger will be able to stick around or if the board throws him to the curb.

Uh no. They’re a very long way from running out of money. Just about every example you cited still made money, just perhaps not as much as expected.

This was made up news for the liberal media
So, to be clear, several years ago they made the announcement, started planning and allocating resources for the move, encouraged employees to relocate, and in a grand maneuver of Lib foresight did all of this to make De Santis look bad not even knowing if he'd be re-elected?

I'm happy to buy up shares at 90 for a long hold. Someday in the not-too-distant future Desantis will quit being distracted by his wedding venue, and Disney will continue on being the money-making machine that it is.

Why do you predict that they will stop hemeroging money on their films? Do you believe they're going to drop the woke messaging their audience has financially said they don't want/won't pay to see?

Yep. Marvel movies have made no money.

Agreed. $530 million box office for Guardians of the Galaxy is a joke.

I personally like to use logic when investing money but you do you champ lol
You should consider using logic when investing AND posting.

Personally, I'm comfortable with Disney Films' efforts.

And since I'm not sure you're aware given your hyperfocus on films, they have revenue streams that aren't derived from movie performance (e.g. $8.7 billion revenue in fiscal Q1 '23 for Disney Parks).

Just going to go out on a limb and say they cross $1b when all is said and done on this one.
Perhaps but they're going to need a major weekend this weekend or they're not going to get close. They're halfway there only and the movies been our for over 2 weeks already with summer coming in a week.

Out here for 2 weeks, not for all international markets.

Part of Lightyears box office downturn was how quick it went to Disney+. The movies are doing fine as a whole it's Disney+ that isn't there yet. They have put a lot of new expensive shows/movies on Disney+.

Disney plus has lost nearly 7 million subscribers since lightyear was added to the streaming service. I do agree that Disney is spending a lot on their IP, but I don't think that's reflected on the quality of products that have come out in recent years.

The majority of subscribers lost were from India because they lost the rights to broadcast cricket

Light Year and Strange World weren’t good. Disney Animation has some serious headwinds. They were forced to fire John Lassiter, and he took a lot of the top talent with them.

Marvel is still churning out hits. Guardians 3 is only $25 million behind Guardians 2 at this same point of time. They had a mediocre lineup so far this year, and they’ve all outperformed.

You guys really like to sit and argue that only one thing can be true. The fact that this project had already been delayed by 4 years certainly lends credence to the fact that this development might not have made it off the ground no matter what. Especially with their big star wars experience closing down too.

That doesn't mean the DeSantis shit couldn't have played a role in the decision. I do think the libs love to blame 100% on DeSantis for political reasons though.

That's going to start coming down. There's been TWO great Marvel movies since End Game--Spider-Man 3 and Guardians 3.

Thor 4 - Meh
The Marvels - Hot Garbage
Eternals - Garbage
Doctor Strange 2 - Meh
Black Panther 2 - Boring!
Ant-Man 3 - Average
Shang Chi - Story average cinematography A+
