I read in an article about Dix that the staff has had him at the point in practice at times with Bowen playing the 2. I suppose Bowens speed to the rim being the reason.

This might be an interesting wrinkle in some games, especially in years to come. I thought Dix looked comfortable handling the ball against Mich. Only one turnover.

I don't hate it. Worth a try.

Clearly Dix has been getting run at the 1 spot in practice. You just don't put Dix at PG in a critical B1G game. Ulis and Perkins have not been getting the job done thus far.

Dix is not a natural 1, but he's as good with ball as Ulis and Bowen. We haven't really seen him break down a defense tho.

Positionless basketball,. Get the ballers in there.

The thing is, Ulis and Bowen are pretty shaky out there too. The coaching staff must be seeing something too - either the instability of those two at this point or Dix at the 1 spot in practice - and now one game.

Very small sample size but I felt more confidence with Dix at the 1 spot than Ulis or Bowen. Man, both of those guys make me very nervous when they have the ball. Bowen has potential though IMO.

Again, need more data points but I think it's worth pursuing.

Perkins looked good playing the 1 at times as well. The problem is likely going to be the same with both guys tho, teams that really pressure the ball and press hard. Michigan was content to let Dix get to his spots and not put any pressure on him.

Never felt Perk was the right play at the 1, he's a 2, and you have to have shooters on the floor at other positions with him.

I would like to see Dix, Perk, Sandfort, Kris, Rebraca lineup get some time. You have enough shooting on the floor to give Perk room to do what he does best which is get to the lane hoop.

Similar to Sandfort before breaking out of his slump, needs to relax, see a few go in and get that confidence he had prior to injury.

His late game turnovers when forced to handle the ball been a bit frustrating.

I think DIx ability to shoot the 3 is the main reason why he is getting so many minutes. Ulis has been hesitant and inconsistent, Perkins has been in an overall funk for a month. Having another perimeter threat helps open up both Rebraca and Kris. So far, Dix has looked really good on both ends. He does a little bit of everything to win, and has a very high BB IQ, especially for a true freshman.

Dix hit one of the biggest shots in the game, when the Hawks went down by 10, and looked like we were in real trouble. He aggressively looked for the shot on his own and came through.

I think Dix makes basketball look so easy, effortless, so far. Maybe he'll get time at point against MSU, then we will see.

This,.. Dix looks pretty stable with the ball as long as he isn't getting pressed hard, plus he's a outside shooting threat,.. Jbo light.

Bowen is lost on D and a TO machine. He shows flashes but he’s not quite there yet.
I actually think Bowen is one of the biggest disappointments this season (other than the backup centers not making any semblance of improvement).

Bowen was touted as one of the best true pg Fran ever recruited. People were acting like he was the reason Joe T left and were expecting him to be a major contributor this year, if not a starter. But, as you said, he looks lost on both ends of the floor. Moreover, he's smaller than I anticipated and doesn't look physically ready for the B10. I think there is a reason he lost his 4-star ranking in high school.

I still think Bowen has shown enough that he can one day blossom into a good B10 player. He'll just take longer than I, and I think alot of others, initially expected.

His on ball defense is actually pretty good now but he's still getting overpowered in the lane.

Hes not getting lost like he was at the start of the year.
Yeah it seems to be a strength issue at this point. He’s very narrow through the shoulders. I would imagine he’ll look very different starting his Junior year.

More guys than you'd think like dix in the II, but personally I prefer dix in the V.
