Saw Carton play at CR Washington last night - really gifted athlete, plays at a speed faster than others. Reminded me of Wes Washpun but he's a better shooter than Wes was in high school. Great handles and a great feel for the game!

He looks like just what we need. I sure hope we can get him.
I've never seen the kid play, but if he's an athletic point guard then I'm 100% in agreement with you. Nothing against JBo, I like the kid a lot, I just think he'd be better at SG despite being short.
I would surprised if he has a vertical like Washpun. Wes was elite in that category- NBA level.
been to numerous Carton games going back to his freshman year when he played on the Soph team....including last nights' game.
Vertical...not sure if 45...but he can get up.
The kid has filled out some physically ..much stronger..yep he is going to make someone very happy come late summer next year.

I like that Wes Washpun comparison,... Have not seen Carton, but very familiar with Washpun. If Carton has a Washpun type game I'd love to see him land in Iowa City...
Wish Carton were a year earlier. JBo would be great as a swing guy, who played more minutes at the 2.
We probably aren't getting him anyway so why does it matter if he's 2018 or 2019
Please share the information you have showing where DJ Carton probably won't choose Iowa. He may or he may not, but our style of play is perfect for DJ's game.
Not to mention he’s exactly what iowa needs and Iowa doesn’t have anyone like him.

Nobody knows if carton is coming to iowa or not but fran should have a plan B
anyone saying Carton will not decide on Iowa doesnt know what they are talking about...the kid will decide the school that fits him best and that decision will not be made til next summer or late summer.
until then...its all speculation and nothing more...would love to see him to continue to wear the black & gold..but in the end he has a college scholarship waiting for him..

If they are right about their recruiting predictions a majority of the time, it is only because they changed their predictions when it got down to crunch time -- which they are notorious for doing.
would like to also say...as gifted as Carton is...he is the player he is today because he has worked his butt off spending hours & hours at it...for that he has earned himself several offers.
we would be very fortunate to earn his decision to play for us...would be disappointed if he chooses to go elsewhere...but happy for him.

I think its important to let the kid go thru the process..I would imagine when the time comes to make a decision,,it will not be an easy one..some really good schools have offered.
If I knew where he ends up deciding (which I dont) I wouldnt say anyway....because he should be afforded the privilege of making the announcement himself. He is the one who has earned it.
For those of you posting he isnt going to pick Iowa or anywhere else for that matter..its totally without merit. If I'm wrong (which I'm not) then you should tell us where you are getting your info.
In the meantime let the kid enjoy his junior season in high school.
Let the schools who have offered make their case...so the kid can make the decision when the time comes as to where he wants to play his college ball.

He doesn't even open the recruiting letters Fran sends. That's one thing I happened to notice while sorting through the family's garbage.
