If you look at the conference standings and overall records, I think it questionable the B1G gets more than 6 teams in the Big Dance this year. I don't think it is probable from the sample size we have seen thus far, but the only two teams that could even potentially make a second half conference run is either Ohio State or Wisconsin.
Here are the standings:

OSU could have really helped themselves a lot the other day by knocking off MD
No doubt, that is what got me thinking about posing this question. Its gonna make teams like OSU and Wisconsin and our games against them very difficult. Getting a chance to knock us off will help their resume as the opportunity to beat teams with a with a high RPI in this top heavy conference this year are minimal. I know all of our remaining games we will have a target on our back and will be tough, but the desperation to get a big win for their resume will be escalated against these bubble teams.

I suspect OSU will limp into the tourney, I'm not so sure about Wisky but they have been playing well of late.

With Ohio State and Wisconsin having not only down years and bad non-conference losses, both of them would have to win the Big tournament to make the field of 64 and the last time I looked, only 1 team can win the Big Ten Tournament.....9 games left and nether one will be selected....

Ohio St. has 9 loses already with games at Wisconsin and Michigan St, home games against Michigan, Michigan St, Iowa.....Wisconsin has 9 loses and has away games against Maryland, Michigan St, and Iowa, home games against Ohio St, and Michigan. Who really believes these 2 will lose less then 10 games....

You are probably right. It aint likely barring a surprising second half run. We were 6-6 last year and just got beat by NW and were probably looking like a bubble team. I guess you never know, but like you said I just dont think either Wiscy nor Ohio St are good enough to do what our Hawks did. The last six games last year by Whitey were tremendous!

Well there is our proof. Good work IllQCHawk. Laying it out like that.....I think we have the answer to the thread question. 6 B1G teams it is!

Awesome year on not worrying if IA will make as a bubble or NIT. As long as the B1G represents well by going deep into the dance is all that matters for the ones who makes it, like 2 or more B1G teams in the Final Four would be very cool. IA taking it all would be a dream!

Six B1G teams may be the limit. If the top 5 separate from the next batch it may stop there

Six teams right now for sure. Wisconsin is getting closer to being a bubble team, but will need a couple more wins against teams above them in the B1G and at least a 10-8 record and a BTT win or two. OSU has lots of talent, but is very inconsistent. They are highly unlikely to make the dance, but are a dangerous team in any one game.

The OSU/Wi game this week looks to be a big game. And if Wis wins, the Purdue/Wis game could be another big one.
If Wis wins both those, they certainly have a shot at finishing above purdue.

Anything can still happen...
