Do we have any Recruiting battles with MSU right now?

Uuuuuhhhhh. I don’t even want to think about any of that, let alone have Iowa’s coaching staff try and take advantage of such a disgusting situation.

If a recruit wants to get away, so be it, that would be his decision.

Yeah, well and I just hope that a) this doesn't happen again,
b) that the Hawkeyes always beat spartie.

Young men need to know ALL the facts and so do their parents.

GO HAWKS :)

Absolutely.

I’m sure nobody needs the Iowa coaching staff to fill them in on what has been going on at MSU.

Listening to ESPN radio on the drive home there is chatter that Dantonio and Izzo may not survive this.

And now their Athletic Director has resigned, so maybe my
starting a thread on this topic was prescient ??

GO HAWKS :)

Have to admit, when I first read your post I laughed it off. But it was pescient?, precent?, I mean you’re clarevoyent? clairvoyeint? God damn you can see the future!

Do we want any of the guys they recruit... no thank you... I will take 8 and 5 and an occasional 12 and 2 and have a Clean Program
I think their cover-up, look the other way, no punishment culture has been a key recruiting tool for them for them since Dantonio got there at least. Reputation for telling guys come here, we got your back, we'll protect you. Can see how that would be attractive recruiting pitch for a certain class of recruits.

-That's MSU for you folks, Zero disicipline. I hope they and USA Women's Gymnastics Team learn a tough lesson from this sad and disgusting case... Look into Mark Dantonios resume he's notorious for it and he's the poster child for MSU.

Posted that about a week ago on that Nassar ESPN article and got called biased hater! HA we Hawk fans have seen this go on way too long

We have offers to six Michigan kids in the '19 class. Too lazy to look up if all six have MSU offers but some or all probably do. Not to mention others in surrounding states that we and MSU both have offered. There is no doubt this could help Iowa. And there's nothing unethical about taking advantage of the situation.

Nothing wrong with promoting you run as clean a program as there is in the country. If not the kids maybe the parents will look at Iowa/Kirk Ferentz as a little more “attractive” now. Kids are going to get into trouble, the history of all the PAULA arrests don’t bother me at all. Iowa City is not Detroit. Kirk keeps some things “in house” but for the right reasons. Always trusted he will dole out the proper punishment even when detrimental to the team.

Minimum 8 wins a season and a clean program and I have no complaints.

One problem is that many of the parents are the very reason some of these recruits are "bad apples"...that haven't fallen far from the tree.

Why not shut down College football and basketball and you will have ZERO incidents and can feel even better?

Zero tolerance for rapists/abusers makes sense. It became clear after PP and the football incident that you are better off getting rid of those athletes..

However I'd prefer to see the farce of college athletics go away if the other alternative is I am supposed to be happy with mediocre records forever at Iowa. Watching an Iowa program schedule 2 home games vs nobodies every year insures the 7-5 or 8-4 bar is not to difficult to achieve.

I see a coach get $5 million a year while I seeing a kid like Sash kill himself in his 20's.

Meh, I don't think its a key tool they bring out and wave to the guys to get them to commit. But you can be 100% certain people interested in going there notice things like that. Just like other blue bloods with certain players driving fancy cars that seemingly have no way to afford such things.
Words don't have to be said its understood.

I am certain there are plenty recruits that don't want to come to Iowa for that very outlook on Iowa's program. And thats just fine.

Covered a lot of ground in a short space here.
