Do you keep a fire extinguisher in your kitchen?

We keep an extinguisher handy. Had to use it once; wife was cooking a big batch of "sausage cheese balls" (ground sausage, bisquick, shredded cheese) for an appetizer to bring to a party. She put them on a flat cookie sheet (style with no raised edges), grease cooked out of the sausage & dripped down onto the burner.
They were not very good with the added "seasoning" from the extinguisher.

Yes, one in pantry and one above the washer and dryer, which are in a room next to the kitchen.

Never had to use one.

Did wake up at 6:30 to take a leak this morning and heard the fire alarm chirping in the hall between the kids rooms. They've made those batteries real easy to replace nowadays.

So Tradition Manor burnt down?

No, this was when I was in Coast Guard housing about 30 years ago.

I was heating up some oil in a pan to fry something, got distracted, the oil caught fire, and the smoke alarm went off. Extinguished the fire with a lid but the curtains around the window by the sink somehow caught fire, too and I put that out with the sink sprayer. There WAS a fire extinguisher in that housing unit but I didn't have to use it.

I do not have a serviceable fire extinguisher at Tradition Manor today. I should probably speak with the maintenance manager about that.

Get one you cheap bastard!!! 😁

Not in the kitchen, but I keep one mounted on the wall in my garage just outside the kitchen.

Had to use it about 7 years ago when TBW forgot she was cooking something and left the house. I came home from work and opened the door to a cloud of black smoke.

That was a fun day.

We keep it in our pantry, which is near the kitchen. Fortunately, never had to use it.

Your wife loves the sausage.
Just sayin.

I dis at my old house but realized it had expired when I moved and I haven't replaced it, but need to. A coworker had a house fire recently and their house was likely saved because his wife used their fire extinguisher and then their garden hose till the fire department showed up. Likely saved their house from burning down (still caused massive damage though).
