Do you know what Trump was found guilty of?

It doesn't keep him off the ballot or disqualify him from running for President. He can still be elected President from a jail cell. They didn't prosecute him to keep him off the ballot.
I understand that. But we can only hope the end result of all this is that Trump is replaced with someone else. It won't happen, but we can hope.

For me the bigger issue isn't the criminal aspect, it's the fact Donald Trump banged a porn star while his newlywed wife stayed home with their newborn, Barron. Somehow, his voters (especially the Christian ones) seem to not even care about this. If Raegan had done that to Nancy or George to Laura there's no way their careers survive that.
Ooo I actually posted something on this.

Some states tried to leave him off the ballot using the third section of the 14th amendment.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

The problem was he wasn't convicted of engaging in an insurrection.
Something else the republicans failed to do.

no

the case was about unreported campaign contributions (which is what cohen plead guilty to) and "misclassified" business expenses meant to reimburse those contributions
No.

But it doesn't matter that I can show you what he was actually convicted of, you will continue to try to bring it back to the Cohen case, so, I will simply say, good day.

Barron is 18 years old now and the people in the relationship have found a way to get past it.
We don't know that. We have zero clue what Barron really thinks of his dad.
He is a piece of shit.
He really is.
I'm also not a liar, I have friends, male and female, who have cheated on a spouse and I didn't stop being friends with them because of that. I don't treat my.partners like that, but, be honest, you have friends that have also.
Of course, but there's typically remorse, apologies, even counseling to get through these things. I believe with every fiber of my being that Trump is a narcissist. And I don't mean in that fun way we toss the word around for a prideful or arrogant person. A narcissist cannot, by definition, be a servant of the people. People on here will bash GW, but he's a good person.

A narcissist, clinically defined, is someone diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). According to the DSM-5, NPD is characterized by:
  • A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior)
  • Need for admiration
  • Lack of empathy
These traits begin by early adulthood and present in various contexts, indicated by at least five of the following:
  1. Grandiose sense of self-importance
  2. Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
  3. Belief that they are special and unique
  4. Requirement of excessive admiration
  5. Sense of entitlement
  6. Interpersonally exploitative behavior
  7. Lack of empathy
  8. Envy of others or belief that others are envious of them
  9. Arrogant or haughty behaviors or attitudes
These behaviors cause significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.

No.

LOL - the latest demonstration of your ignorance. It wasn't about taxes.

Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records after prosecutors successfully convinced a jury he disguised hush money reimbursement as legal expenses. He is the first former president to be convicted of a crime.

Each count is tied to a different business record that prosecutors demonstrated Trump is responsible for changing to conceal or commit another crime.

Those records include 11 checks paid to former lawyer Michael Cohen, 11 invoices from Michael Cohen and 12 entries in Trump's ledgers.

The jury found that Trump authorized a plan to reimburse Cohen for the $130,000 hush money payment issued to Stormy Daniels and spread the payments across 12 months disguised as legal expenses.

It's illegal to falsify business records. That's what this is about.

Feel free to cite the counts of tax fraud Trump was convicted of.
What makes falsifying business records illegal is the tax implications ya dunce.

The government doesn't give a shit about how profitable or unprofitable youe business is, they care about getting the right cut.

What am I ignorant of?

He had an affair 20 years ago and paid a.whore to not tell anyone about it. He coded the payment to the whore in his taxes incorrectly. He committed a tax crime.
You are pretending to not know that the sole reason he lied about the expense was to protect his candidacy.

You know, the crime he was CONVICTED OF YESTERDAY.

He is still a candidate as of right now, the day after he was convicted, and we all.knew about Stormy.
but we didn't know in nov 2016...that's the whole point

a payment was made for the benefit of his campaign/candidacy...and business records were falsified to disguise the campaign contribution as a business expense

this really isn't complicated

You are right, it is about his candidacy. They don't want him to run.

This article pretty much sums it up and the issues with the prosecution. I've read Mish for years and he for sure is not Trump fan, nor Biden fan.

Biden fans are going hate. Trump fans are gonna hate. In the end this may be a the point of the downfall of our current system as we act more and more like Ukraine and Russia in how we run Govt.

Mish does not take a position of Trump's guilt. He raises questions of how and why the conviction was achieved.

Personally I do not want Trump or Biden to run.

Wait a minute, you think Stormy paid Trump?

How would Trump benefit from paying Stormy?

What happened was Trump paid Cohen back for paying off Stormy, whether he knew about it or not, and that was coded incorrectly. Because it wasn't taxed correctly.

Cohen didn't get a heloc on his house to make a payment to trump for funsies. Cohen paid Stormy, then Cohen got paid via Trump, there was no campaign contribution from Cohen.

See, you are playing stupid again (I hope, for your sake.)

The crimes he was convicted of were committed to assist him in winning the 2016 presidential election. Which he did.

i legit can't tell if you're being serious or not...this is an incredible performance

campaign contributions can be something other than just giving someone money directly. if you pay off a porn star to stay quiet because of a political campaign, that's a campaign contribution (and that's one of the things cohen plead guilty to)
